Here's What Went Down With Onewith Swimsuits After Shark Tank
Hayley Segar intrigued audiences across the country after introducing her brand, Onewith Swimsuits, to viewers on Season 16 of ABC's Shark Tank. The brand intended to provide swimsuits for women of different body types and sizes based on Segar's personal experience of not being able to find swimwear that felt comfortable on her. Her degree and entrepreneurial support through programs from The University of Connecticut helped lay the foundation for her career as a business owner before her appearance on Shark Tank.
Onewith Swimsuits' primary selling points were providing swimsuits that don't make the skin feel pinched or irritated. The name "Onewith" originated from the concept of wanting consumers to feel positively connected to their bodies. With an elastic-free design and multi-layer construction, consumers were able to enjoy Onewith Swimsuits without the frustration of discomfort or not being able to find their size.
These unique offerings, alongside Segar's knack for persuasion, are what led her to secure an investment from shark Barbara Corcoran and guest shark Jamie Kern Lima during her episode. To celebrate the partnership, Corcoran and Lima posted a video to Shark Tank's Instagram page sharing their excitement.
Today, Onewith Swimsuits can be found across various social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, where models and influencers are sporting the colorful designs. Consumers from XXS to 4X can come to Onewith Swimsuits with the expectation of finally finding their solution for seamless-feeling and looking swimwear that's worth the money.
What happened to Onewith Swimsuits on Shark Tank?
As Hayley Segar recounted on social media, she researched pre-existing types of swimwear construction before determining what she wanted her line to offer. This led to her producing six TikTok videos a day before applying to be on Shark Tank. In turn, this allowed her to gain more fans along the way as they followed her on her journey. Before long, she was making her way to the production studio in California, where she was finally able to meet the sharks face to face. After sharing the success of Onewith thus far, the sharks were thoroughly impressed with her presentation. Even Kevin O'Leary, known as one of the toughest sharks, still complimented Segar on her presentation, noting that it was 'very impressive' and that he couldn't find anything to 'rip her to pieces' on.
Segar's post-deal confessional revealed her utter disbelief and excitement of not just securing a deal with one shark, but securing a deal with two sharks. "I got a deal with not just one, but two sharks. Barbara Corcoran, who I've been obsessed with for years, and Jamie Kern Lima, who literally could not be a better fit for my company. I'm so excited to see where Onewith goes with these two sharks on our side," Segar shared in the episode's recap clip after confirming the deal.

After the premiere of Onewith Swimsuits' Shark Tank episode, Segar saw a huge influx in sales. According to UConn Today, at one point, the brand even reached 20,000 webpage viewers and generated $2M in sales. Segar also made appearances on local news platforms in Connecticut and was even featured again on Shark Tank during Barbara Corcoran's bootcamp episode. She's continued to share her story across social media and podcasts to remain transparent to fans. This transparency has allowed her to be well respected and supported since her time on Shark Tank.
One example of a positive review came from an article written by Senior Lifestyle Editor at Parade, Alani Vargas, when she reviewed Onewith Swimsuits as a plus-size woman. Her primary call-outs, similar to the brand's selling points, were the comfort she felt in wearing the swimwear and that the garments stay in place to hug your body in all the right places. Meanwhile, a downside that she called out is that the garments can stretch out to the point of not being able to fit anymore. However, she was hopeful that they'd return to their original size after washing.
Other reviews seemed to skew in a different direction. For example, on Reddit, users felt as though, despite Segar's good intentions, that she was entering into a market that consumers would lean more on in-person retail for, and that they wished there were other colorways. "Her designs, in my opinion, were nice, classic pieces, but even though it's the 'for all body types' style, the bottoms aren't flattering for my body type. They also looked like underwear to me and not a bathing suit," said one Reddit user.
Onewith Swimsuits is still thriving as a business
Since her appearance on Shark Tank, Hayley Segar has continued to make strides toward her company's success. Her range of swimsuit sizes and styles allows women of all backgrounds to find the perfect suit for themselves. Their website even offers the selected styles that were featured on the infamous Shark Tank episode, and branded content that addresses consumers' burning questions, such as traditional swimwear vs. swimwear that fits like underwear, and the differences that exist between the two. The brand has elevated so much that they've partnered with visual artist Claire Buckley for their latest collection, which was released in February 2025.
