Oprah's 'Ozempic Face' Transformation Is Wild To See In Side-By-Side Photos

Oprah Winfrey has been open about her weight loss journey for decades, and she recently joined the ranks of celebs who totally transformed after taking Ozempic or other GLP-1s. In 2023, the former talk show host revealed to People that she used weight loss medication to shed stubborn pounds that wouldn't come off with just diet and exercise. "Obesity is a disease. It's not about willpower — it's about the brain," she shared. Winfrey added, "The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and, once again, be ridiculed for."

Unfortunately, with weight loss meds, facial features can change, and side-by-side pics of Winfrey show how she fell victim to "Ozempic face." As a woman in her 70s, there's no doubt that the host and author looks fabulous for her age. However, her drastic weight loss has made her practically unrecognizable and highlights the lines around her mouth. There's a lot of buzz surrounding Winfrey's new look, and while her transformation is stunning, some fans think she's taking the GLP-1s a bit too far.

'Ozempic face' isn't the only side effect Oprah is experiencing

Along with "Ozempic face," experts have warned that the rise of Ozempic can have lasting consequences. And, rapid weight loss can make one's head appear larger than the body, which fans are noticing on Oprah Winfrey. "Oprah is looking strange these days..." one commented on X. A user replied, "It's the Ozempic 'bobble head' side effect ... It's very common since they are not losing weight naturally." Another agreed, "Yes, you're right. Her head looks much bigger than her body."

Despite all the criticism, Winfrey is staying on her GLP-1s. Initially, Winfrey's goal weight was 160 pounds, but she is now down to 155, per CBS News. Winfrey said her aim now is to just maintain her weight, adding that the medication, along with resistance training, has given her the body she had when she run a marathon. "So, I was 40 and feeling really good, but to be able to be 71 and feel that I am in the best shape of my life feels better than it did when I was 40," she said.
