5 HGTV Stars Plagued By Plastic Surgery Rumors

In the world of celebrity, no one's safe from a plastic surgery rumor. Just ask Sydney Sweeney, who's had something to say about the plastic surgery allegations. But it's not just Hollywood actors and world famous singers who have been accused of getting a nip here and a tuck there, because several of our favorite HGTV personalities have also faced allegations of going under the knife or getting invasive cosmetic procedures.

Rumors about which familiar faces from the home improvement channel may have remodeled their faces alongside their properties have swirled on social media for years. "Have never seen so much plastic surgery and makeup or heard as many fake hellos as I have in this 5 minutes of watching [HGTV]," one viewer wrote on X in 2019. "Wow, some people really need to layoff the botox, plastic surgery #hgtv ... yikes!!!" another wrote. From Jenny Marrs' lips to Christina Haack's chin, these HGTV personalities just can't seem to shake the surgery speculation.

"Fixer to Fabulous" star Jenny Marrs was forced to deny getting lip filler after fans noticed her mouth appeared plumper in episodes that aired in 2023. Marrs responded to the rampant online chatter via her Instagram story, telling her followers (via TV Insider), "NO I did NOT get 'my lips done.' ... I had a terrible allergic reaction last year that took months to heal." She stated that it was due to contact with synthetic mint, which she is allergic to. "It was such a nightmare and was so so painful. My lips were swollen and it hurt to talk and eat."

But that wasn't enough to put at end to the chatter. In 2024, a Reddit user directed attention back to her kisser, writing, "Jenny's lips are bothering me. Sometimes they're thin and unglossed but sometimes they're big and glossed and she can barely move them. It's driving me nuts to the point I can focus on nothing else." Despite Marr's explanation the year prior, other fans jumped on the speculation she may have gotten lip filler. "100% [a] reaction to injections," one person wrote. After another user pointed out her lips didn't appear as enlarged after her reaction subsided, a third stated that "filler doesn't last forever," as some facial fillers can be dissolved (though others can't).

Former "Selling Sunset" star Heather Rae El Moussa joined HGTV alongside her husband Tarek El Moussa for "The Flipping El Moussas" in 2023 and "The Flip Off" in 2025, but she faced plastic surgery allegations long before that. In 2010, the former model denied going under the knife on X, responding to a user who accused her of getting cosmetic tweaks, "Really cuz I have no surgery!!" However, during an episode of "Selling Sunset" several years later, Young confirmed she'd gotten saline breast implants.

There have been plenty of rumors suggesting she's had more than a breast augmentation though, so much so the chatter has its own Reddit thread. "Blepharoplasty, buccal fat pad removal. Chin augmentation, Botox and filler here and there," one user suggested of her potential aesthetic tweaks. "Nose job and lip fillers for sure," another speculated, while a third even mused she may have had a facelift. British cosmetic surgery clinic Mya has also ventured that the reality star could have gotten lip filler in addition to jawline and chin contouring. At the time of writing though, El Moussa has only publicly confirmed her breast augmentation.

In 2022, "Married to Real Estate" star Egypt Sherrod responded to rumors she got a BBL in an Instagram post. The HGTV star shared a screenshot of a tweet that read, "Why Egypt Sherrod get her booty done?" and included her response. "I didn't... I had a baby over 40," she hit back with a shrugging emoji. Sherrod added in the caption, "When you have a baby over 40 it hits different. You don't just snap back."

But that wasn't the only plastic surgery rumor swirling around this TV personality. On X, Sherrod has been accused of getting facial plastic surgery, and she's also been forced to deny a breast augmentation. "I actually got a reduction. But the damn things grew back after Harper," she wrote on Instagram, referring to her daughter, as she joined the ranks of celebrities who have opened up about their breast reduction surgeries. The star later confirmed on Facebook that she also got a breast lift after surgery for breast cancer. "We went down a full [two] cup sizes! But I am amazed how the 'girls' still look rather the same," she wrote. Sherrod also admitted she was open to getting further plastic surgeries down the line as she promoted her right to make her own choices about her body. "YES one day I may get a mommy makeover. But IF I do, it is my decision and I will NOT be shamed over it," she wrote.

One X user accused "Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines of having surgery around her eyes after seeing a throwback photo of the TV personality, while another speculated she may have gotten rhinoplasty. "I recently saw someone post images of Joanna Gaines before and after she got plastic surgery ... It's obvious she had some work done," they lamented in another tweet. Like many celebrities, Gaines has also been accused of getting cosmetic injectables such as Botox, which can actually have benefits far beyond vanity. After the popular HGTV star shared a photo of herself on Facebook in 2022, one user boldly commented, "Botox."

Though Gaines has never publicly shared she's gone under the knife or had any cosmetic procedures, she has been quick to shut down fake news suggesting she's leaving HGTV for a cosmetic venture. "There have been rumors floating around about me leaving the show to start a skincare [or] makeup line. I wanted to take a minute to let y'all know that it's simply not true. This is a SCAM!" she wrote on Instagram in 2017.

Few HGTV stars have faced as much speculation over their appearance as Christina Haack. The "Flip or Flop," "Christina On The Coast," and "Christina: Stronger by Design" star has been open about getting a breast augmentation; but seeing as Haack's face has totally transformed since her HGTV debut, it's not surprising she's repeatedly been accused of getting more plastic surgery. "Watching #fliporflop The Final Flip and it makes me sad to see [Tarek El Moussa] and [Christina Haack]'s faces distorted by plastic surgery, hard to look at them," one X user even wrote.

In 2025, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Raja Mohan told Glam, "[Haack's] nose looks slightly more refined than in earlier photos." He also suggested there may have been a change to her chin, purporting she could have gotten an implant for a more prominent look. Though not technically plastic surgery, experts have also shared the cosmetic injections they believe Haack could have gotten. In 2021, plastic surgeon Dr. Alexander Rivkin told Radar Online that he believed the house flipping star could have gotten lip and cheek filler. Fellow plastic surgeon Dr. Frank Agullo also commented on the TV personality's eyebrows, musing, "Her brows appear to be more 'up and out' [which] can be achieved with neurotoxin [or] thread lifting."

Haack hasn't publicly confirmed undergoing those aesthetic treatments, but told People in 2023 she's no stranger to Botox. The star has also been open about a negative experience she had with under-eye filler. In a 2022 Instagram story, she vowed never to repeat the procedure after a bad reaction. "[My eyes were] super swollen and it wouldn't go down with time," she wrote, confirming she had the filler removed (via People).
