Celebs Who Were Older When They Found Love

When it comes to finding love, there is no exact timeline. Some people fall in love at 16 and grow old together, while others have multiple loves over the course of their life before finding their soulmate at, say, 55. While the concept of "the one" is outdated and rife with patriarchy, it still hasn't stopped romantics from holding onto hope — for decades in some cases — that their match is out there. Naturally, when it comes to love, some celebrities are no different.

In a culture that pushes the idea of partnering up as soon as possible and having sex earlier rather than later, not everyone is on board — and that's a good thing. For example, there are more than a few celebrities who didn't have sex until they were older, and there are plenty who didn't find their great love until later, too. "I wanted to make an uplifting, life-affirming, hopeful picture about love. And that people do find each other at later ages, that everything's possible," Barbra Streisand told the Los Angeles Times in November 1996 about her 1996 rom-com, "The Mirror Has Two Faces." Later that same year, Streisand, then 54, met James Brolin. "In a way, my getting together with (Brolin) is life imitating art, like you dream the film and then you manifest the film."

While not every relationship occurs due to manifestation, sometimes things just make better sense when you're older. If you're fearful that you're getting too old to find love, relax. Love is something you're never too old for, as these celebs will show you.

Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson

Although Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor first met in 2005, it wouldn't be until 10 years later, in 2015, that the two would start dating. At the time, Paulson was 41, and Taylor was 72. With 32 years between them, Paulson and Taylor are among the celebs who have forced us to confront our fixation with age-gap relationships and, frankly, that's a good thing.

"It's a long story. We met a very, very long time ago. I was with someone else and she was too," Paulson told Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" in January 2019, via People. "We were doing a thing at Martha Plimpton's house. It was for an organization that she was working with ... We sort of breezed by each other and then started following each other on Twitter." According to Paulson, Taylor literally slid into her DMs and the two have been living their happily-ever-after since then.

Unlike some couples who feel the need to make their relationship legal with a marriage, that's not the case with Paulson and Taylor. "I don't think [we'll get married]," Holland said on Andy Cohen's SiriusXM show in August 2024, adding that neither has any interest. "It doesn't seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people ... we would tie the knot if we wanted to."

Kim Cattrall and Russell Thomas

Although Kim Cattrall's iconic character, Samantha Jones, wasn't too keen on the concept of love and preferred to keep things casual (until she met Smith Jerrod), in real life, Cattrall is more of a romantic. While she's had her fair share of short-lived relationships, including a fling with Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in 1981 (making her one of the famous women who dated politicians), she's also been married four times. In December 2025, Cattrall, 69, officially locked it down again with husband number four, Russell Thomas.

Cattrall and Thomas first met in 2016. "Russell [Thomas] and I met at the BBC, he was working at the BBC and we liked each other," Cattrall told Glamour in April 2018. "He followed me and I followed him on Twitter, he direct messaged me. It was very, very modern it's just been very easy."

Cattrall and Thomas opted for a low-key ceremony of only 12 guests at the Chelsea Old Town Hall in London and, like her onscreen bestie, Sarah Jessica Parker, celebrated their nuptials with a wedding that wasn't a total spectacle. To no surprise, Cattrall was styled by her friend and the costume designer for "Sex and the City," Patricia Field, who put the bride in a Dior suit with matching Jimmy Choo heels. In June 2025, Cattrall said of her soon-to-be husband in an interview with The Times, "He's had an incredibly interesting life and really done it on his terms ... He's a bit of a rebel, which I love."

Barbra Streisand and James Brolin

While James Brolin isn't Barbra Streisand's first and only husband, he does seem to be her person. From 1963 to 1971, Streisand was married to Elliott Gould, then had a couple of relationships after that. But it wasn't until she met Brolin in 1996, when she was 54, that things really clicked, leading to a 1998 marriage.

"We were set up as a blind date, and I was so shy that I came into the house and I went downstairs to be with the children and play with them until I had to sit down at the table," Streisand told Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" in 2021, via People, adding that the first thing she actually said to Brolin was an insult. Explaining to Fallon that she had expected a man with a beard and wavy hair, neither of which Brolin had at the time, Streisand said, "I put my hand through his hair and said, 'Who f***ed up your hair?'" And that's all it took to get the ball moving for these two.

During his wedding speech, Brolin expressed how lucky he was to have his relationship with Streisand happen later in life. "Every night is a new adventure. Sleeping is a waste of time," Brolin said, via People. "I can't wait to see her again in the morning."

Halle Berry and Van Hunt

Halle Berry may have already been married three times, but it's with musician Van Hunt that she seems to have found her soulmate and someone she's able to call the love of her life. Because their meeting coincided with COVID lockdowns, Berry and Hunt relied on the phone to get to know each other in the early days of their relationship. "We spent four months talking on the phone," Berry, then 54, told AARP in January 2022, adding that they were forced to get to know each other on a mental and emotional level first. "I'd never done it this way. I fell in love with his mind, his conversation. I really believe I've found my person," explained Berry.

As one of the women in Hollywood who are still embracing and celebrating their sexuality, it's only fitting that Berry would find her great love at this stage in the game. When she took the stage at the 4th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema and Television in December 2021 to accept an achievement award, she made sure to thank Hunt. "Because I failed so many times, I now know what [love] really looks like," Berry said, via People. "And so my partner is here tonight, Van, and you have supported me."

In an interview with Today in June 2025, Hunt shared that he had proposed, but Berry hasn't accepted yet. Pointing out that they'd both already been married before, Berry said, "We don't feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way." After all, marriage isn't for everyone.

Helen Hunt and Jeffrey Nordling

Helen Hunt may not be as prominent on the big and small screen like she was in the '90s and early 2000s, but off-screen, her romantic life has been going swimmingly thanks to actor Jeffrey Nordling. After a slow launch of each other on Instagram in 2022, the two made their relationship red carpet official in October 2023 when attending the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 20th Anniversary Gala together. But this isn't their first go at a relationship together.

"We dated in 1988," Hunt said during an interview with The Flow Space in June 2025. "And I always thought he was lovely and sweet and talented and dreamy ... We both had very different lives for decades, and then, in some crazy way, found each other again." In fact, it was Hunt's daughter who, after Hunt split from producer Matthew Carnahan in 2017, suggested her mom find someone "hot" to date. In Hunt's mind, Nordling fit the bill, so she mentioned him since the two had mutual friends even after all this time. For their first date, the two met for breakfast and, as they say, the rest is history. Now at 62, Hunt is getting another chance at love, as is Nordling, who's 63.

Jennifer Aniston and Jim Curtis

Ever since becoming a household name with the series "Friends," the media has been obsessed with Jennifer Aniston's love life. While her most notable and high-profile relationship will always be her marriage to Brad Pitt, he's certainly not the only one to have won Aniston over. Most recently, that honor goes to hypnotist Jim Curtis, with whom Aniston went Instagram official in November 2025.

Although the relationship is still relatively new, Aniston, who's currently 56, doesn't seem to have had anyone in her life since her marriage to Justin Theroux came to an end in 2018. Since then, Aniston has been working on herself and has given interviews about the most important relationship in her life: the one she has with her body. "We've got to love our bodies. It's doing the best it can," Aniston told Allure in January 2025. "It's been with us since the day we started, so we can't be too hard on it."

While we're not sure what's to come of her romance with Curtis, Aniston seems to be in a great place, so maybe he'll be her next great love. If not, she still has time — if a romantic relationship is something she wants. If age is really just a number, then it holds zero weight when it comes to finding love.
