The Leading Ladies Of Twilight Have Drastically Transformed

Stephenie Meyer's 2005 novel, "Twilight," captured the hearts of fantasy lovers everywhere, and even more so when the film debuted three years later. With a cast full of gorgeous actors who literally sparkled on-screen, the franchise continues to remain immortalized over the years, just like the vampire characters who live on forever. Led by Kristen Stewart, who has worn some looks Bella Swan would have hated, other notable female actors include Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser, and Anna Kendrick — all of whom look completely different over a decade later.

Stewart was just 17 years old when she starred in "Twilight," with the other leading ladies in their early 20s, save for Reaser, who was 33 at the time. After the last installment, "Breaking Dawn," the actors have all moved on to different projects, with some going on to get married and have children. It's always fun to revisit "Twilight" even after all these years, and the actors' transformations since the franchise ended are quite the sight to see.

Kristen Stewart's look has become edgier over the years

Kristen Stewart has had an iconic style transformation since her "Twilight" days, going from a relaxed mid-aughts look to avant-garde 'fits many fashionistas would love to get their hands on. The "Adventureland" star's tastes are broad, and range from androgynous suits to ethereal sheer gowns. After partnering with Chanel in 2013, Stewart has worn an array of the brand's creations and even collaborated with the house for many of her "Spencer" looks. "I feel very safe with Chanel. I feel I can rely on the House. It's been a daunting experience to take this character that coincidentally loved Chanel so much, just as I do," she shared with L'Officiel in 2022.

As with her fashion, Stewart has experimented with different hairstyles throughout her career, rocking bold looks, such as the rock star platinum buzz cut she debuted in 2017. "I've been wanting to do this for a long time, just for novel sake — just because, at some point in your life, you want to be able to," the actor told Today. These days, she's back to the brunette shade that she was known for in "Twilight," which she wears long and with cropped bangs. Just don't compare her to Bella Swan, however, as Stewart is eager to distance herself from her earlier role. "Bella needs to go to bed. Bella needs to just go chill for a while," she joked to Variety.

Ashley Greene went from an immortal vampire to a loving mom

While a few members of the Cullen clan didn't welcome Bella Swan with open arms, Alice Cullen certainly did so with her bubbly, infectious personality. Played by Ashley Greene, the century-old vampire became Swan's ally and guided her through the world of immortals, all while rocking an adorable pixie cut. Although Greene's character was in a relationship with a fellow vampire, in real life, she's been with actor and entrepreneur Paul Khoury since 2009. The two got married in 2018 and welcomed their daughter, Kingsley Rainn Koury, four years later. "And just like that — everything changed. In a single moment, you came into our world and everything else faded away. Nothing else mattered," Greene shared after the birth of her baby.

Learning to accept her postpartum body wasn't always easy for Greene, which she has been refreshingly open about. In an Instagram post shared in January 2023, she told fans, "I can't remember a time where I was more frustrated and where I struggled so much just to get through a workout that I used to power through ... But I also can't remember ever being more PROUD of my body and everything it has done for me." The "Deck the Walls" star revealed that she was working on building a strong foundation first and encouraged other first-time moms to take their fitness journeys slowly as well.

Nikki Reed stepped away from Hollywood to focus on her family

Nikki Reed played the aloof Rosalie Hale in the "Twilight" franchise, who desperately wanted to be a mom, and the "Thirteen" star carried on her character's wish in real life. She and fellow actor Ian Somerhalder welcomed their first child, daughter Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder, in 2017, and their son in 2023. That didn't stop the busy mom of two from working on her business, however, and she told New Beauty after her son was born, "Let me tell you, life is so busy and so wonderful. But life has gotten incredibly busy, and it doesn't look like it's slowing down any time soon." She added, "Right now, raising babies is the most important thing for me."

Since starring in "V-Wars" with Ian in 2019, Reed has shifted her priorities away from acting and now lives on a farm in California with her family. "Getting back into the rhythm of the earth and getting our kids outdoors in a world where we're all living indoors, in front of screens and blue light everywhere, we need some red light," she told E! News. Along with her businesses, Reed's daily life includes tending to her many animals and garden. In an interview with Santa Barbara Magazine, she stated, "If I could like tell you my dream, it would be to achieve total food autonomy, to have zero connection to a supermarket, to city water, to anything like that — to be able to live without relying on any system. So, you know, we're not too far off from that."

Elizabeth Reaser's career continued to flourish after Twilight

Elizabeth Reaser was already a well-known actor before playing Esme Cullen in "Twilight," having had notable roles in "Saved" and "Grey's Anatomy." Following "Breaking Dawn — Part 2," Reaser continued to find success with "The Haunting of Hill House" and "The Handmaid's Tale," along with many other television shows and films. Back when the first "Breaking Dawn" premiered, Reaser had no idea how much her career would take off, telling the Los Angeles Times in 2011, "For me, I just keep trying to get the good jobs and trying to be an actor. I think it's helpful that people know who I am more now, but I don't know, things like that don't necessarily translate into a good career ... so we'll see."

Reaser's doubt was clearly unfounded, and along with being a big name in Hollywood, she found love with her now-husband, musician Bruce Gilbert. The two reconnected in 2017 after having previously met at a party, per Vogue. During a chance meeting outside Reaser's home with their respective dogs, Gilbert decided to take a leap and ask for her number. "We owe our dogs everything! And our pal, who called him over," she told the publication. The happy couple tied the knot in 2024 during an elopement to Italy with just a few friends and actor Holland Taylor as the officiant. "Originally, we were making these huge lists of people to invite, but we realized pretty quickly it didn't feel right for us," Reaser explained.

Anna Kendrick leveled up her fashion game since Twilight

Anna Kendrick had a small but still important role in "Twilight" as the friendly (human) high-schooler who becomes one of Bella Swan's first friends in Forks. Back then, she wasn't well-known enough to have big designer brands fawning all over her, and told Harper's Bazaar of her "Twilight" premiere look, "This was one of the first dresses that was ever loaned to me. It was very much a situation of like, there was a rack of really three things." And, while Kenrick's celebrity LBD proved the outfit's versatility, it was nothing compared to her later high-fashion 'fits.

In 2025, Kendrick wore a gorgeous fringed dress with a deep V-cut for the BAFTAs, which she accessorized with a diamond and emerald necklace. "I'm wearing a black archival Georges Chakra gown, which I'm very excited about. The cut down to my belly button does make me a little nervous, but I love that it's very inspired by the 1920s and 1930s, as that's my favorite period of filmmaking," she shared with Elle. The same year, Kendrick showed up at the Academy Museum Gala wearing a plunging black Carolina Herrera gown with gold floral embroidery, looking like a true movie star. We're sure her past self would be jumping up and down with glee.
