Candace Cameron Bure's Most Unfortunate Makeup Mistakes
Candace Cameron Bure has totally transformed since her child star days, going from a fresh-faced kid on "Full House" to a Hollywood icon in a full face of glam. As a former Hallmark star, Bure is no stranger to rocking various looks while filming. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean her face is always flawless off-camera, and she's been caught with some makeup mistakes that she'll never be able to erase.
We have to give Cameron Bure props for not just sticking with one makeup palette. The "Fuller House" actor loves to experiment with different colors and has been seen in everything from red lips to smoky eyes. It's too bad she didn't heed the advice of her television aunt, Becky, who told Cameron Bure's character in "Full House" not to slather on makeup. "It was a line from Aunt Becky when she was teaching DJ how to put mascara on — maybe she was going to junior high or something — she said, 'less is more,' and that holds true for sure," Cameron Bure recalled to People. It seems she forgot the adage, however, and the times the "Camp Cucamonga" star went overboard with products were just too many to ignore. And then, there were other instances when Cameron Bure went the other way and was in such a desperate need of a touch-up that we couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh, Mylanta!"
Candace Cameron Bure's shimmery blue shadow wasn't a disco inferno
One of the '70s beauty trends we hope will never come back is frosty blue eyeshadow, though Candace Cameron Bure clearly doesn't agree. In 2019, she showed up at an Entertainment Weekly event with a shimmery teal color on her upper and lower lids, which only aged her, especially when combined with the leopard print outfit she wore. While that year was all about experimenting with color, a blue eyeshadow in a matte finish would have been more timeless, especially if she had skipped her lower lids and lined them with a neutral brown instead.
Candace Cameron Bure's lipstick faded off into the horizon
There are celebs who have mastered the art of the red lip, and then there's Candace Cameron Bure, who needs to learn how to prevent the ever-dreaded fading lipstick. While attending the Great American Family Christmas Festival in November 2024, the "Another Sweet Christmas" star looked winter-ready with festive makeup. The rest of her application looked picture-perfect, but upon close inspection, Cameron Bure looked like she had just eaten a candy cane and failed to touch up her lips. This mishap could have easily been avoided if she had blotted after the first layer and then applied a second coat, followed by a dab of invisible powder.
Candace Cameron Bure's monotone makeup washed her out
Candace Cameron Bure doesn't always go for a colorful makeup theme, but with her blond hair and naturally fair skin, she definitely could stand to add some brightness to her face. Sadly, the time she decided on a monotone makeup look at a Hallmark event in 2018 only washed her out, resulting in a drab complexion that took on a grayish tone. It looked like Cameron Bure was going for a beachy bronzed look, and a touch of warmth would have made her complexion glow, rather than look flat.
Candace Cameron Bure went overboard with the spray tan
There are plenty of celeb fake tans that left us cringing, and Candace Cameron Bure's 2018 bronze overload is high on that list. The '80s star didn't just go for a soft, sun-kissed glow that would have looked natural under the camera lights. Instead, she looked at least five shades darker than her natural skin tone, with her face and body taking on an orange hue. Her peach blush and tan bronzer didn't help, either, and only made her skin look even more radioactive.
Candace Cameron Bure didn't get the memo that neon green eyeshadow is totally out
Was Candace Cameron Bure channeling DJ Tanner's '80s energy? Because it certainly seemed like it when she arrived at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards decked out in a zebra print outfit and bright neon green eyeshadow. Perhaps she was going for a throwback theme with her high ponytail and equally bright shimmery pink lip gloss. If that was the case, Cameron Bure sure had fans reminiscing about her "Full House" days when folks could not get enough of highlighter shades.
Candace Cameron Bure's face failed to match the rest of her body
One of the most important rules of makeup is that your foundation should match the color of your body, or you'll look like a floating head. Case in point: Candace Cameron Bure during an appearance on SiriusXM in 2018, where her face was clearly two shades darker than her neck and chest. It seemed she was jumping into summer with her floral dress and tanned face, but unfortunately, the rest of her body failed to keep up and was firmly stuck in the winter months.
Candace Cameron Bure needed to ease up on her orange eyeshadow
We've all experimented with bright makeup colors at one point in our lives, and it's clear Candace Cameron Bure was feeling particularly adventurous at the Eating Recovery Day event in 2016. The "Aurora Teagarden" star opted for tangerine-colored eyeshadow that day, and she didn't just stop at her lids. Cameron Bure brought the shade all the way up to her brows, resulting in an overload of shadow. What's more, she decided to go matchy-matchy with a similar color on her cheeks and lips. If makeup is the first thing you see on a person's face, it's not always the best look when you go overboard with the same hue.
Candace Cameron Bure's powder flashback disaster
Powder flashback is an all-too-real phenomenon that celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman experienced on the red carpet. Unfortunately, Candace Cameron Bure made the list as well in 2015 when she unknowingly posed for the cameras that caught the dusting of white powder left unblended on her face. While we're sure she took a check in the mirror post-makeup application, Cameron Bure clearly didn't ensure the products held up under the camera flashes, and her heavily powdered face was immortalized for all the world to see.
