The Stunning Transformation Of Brooke Shields' Daughter Rowan Henchy
Ever since the term "nepo baby" became part of our vocabulary, the world hasn't been able to get enough of them. For some reason, the privileged life of these kids who just happened to be lucky enough to be born into fame and fortune has struck a chord in our culture — in ways both good and bad — and suddenly, there's no shame in being a nepo baby. In fact, whether it's the best-dressed or worst-dressed nepo baby in Hollywood, there's almost a sense of pride in these kids as they profit off their bloodline.
One of the latest nepo babies to grab the media's attention is Rowan Henchy. Henchy is the oldest daughter of actress and model Brooke Shields and screenwriter and director Chris Henchy. Rowan is 22 and has a younger sister, Grier, who's 19. While Grier has pursued modeling — she has her mom's height — Rowan went to Wake Forest University. "She wants to go into broadcast journalism and news," Shields told E! News at the opening night of "Call Me Izzy" in June 2025. "She's been at different outlets. She's done their carpet stuff."
Among all the ups and downs, events and opportunities, Rowan has also undergone a stunning transformation. From a toddler attending events with her parents to being spotted around New York City for Bravo's "Next Gen NYC," Henchy's no stranger to the spotlight. As to how much of it she wants in her life, now that she's making her own decisions, we'll have to wait and see.
2006: Growing up, Henchy was never too far away from her parents
Unlike some celebrities who have kids, hire a nanny, then pretty much disappear, by the looks of it, Rowan Henchy grew up by her parents' side. In July 2006, at the age of three, Henchy accompanied mom, Brooke Shields, to The Bridgehampton Polo Club's Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge Season Opener in The Hamptons. Like Shields, Henchy was born and raised in New York City, and her parents did their best to give both her and her sister a normal upbringing.
"What I do really reiterate over and over and over again is that what you see may not be the reality," Shields told People in May 2022 about her daughters growing up in the age of social media. "And you can't just accept it because the spotlight's on it and it's on Instagram. You really have to know that it's the world of Oz because behind the curtain, that's where you want to live."
Shields, who has a close relationship with both her daughters, also told the publication about the importance of authentic communication in this digital age with each other, as well as with their social media followers. "This is the truth, and this is what is put out there," Shields told People. "So let's try to live in truth."
2018: Coming into her own and finding her voice
In 2018, Rowan Henchy posted a stunning photo on her Instagram. Although only 15 at the time, her mom's supermodel genes were already on display. Brooke Shields made sure to raise both Rowan and Grier Henchy to be outspoken and advocate for themselves. "I'm proud of them speaking their mind," Shields told People in May 2025. "They are young women who are already beginning to find their own agencies."
Based on Shields' Instagram, Rowan appears to be the more quirky of the two daughters, always up for being silly and having a good time. In April 2020, Shields posted a video of the two sharing a mother-daughter moment while wearing matching robes and singing ABBA. Just a month later, Rowan partook in a TikTok trend in which she smacked her mom in the face with a bag, accidentally, of course. The way the video played out not only showcased how close the two are, but it was funny as heck to see a surprised Shields, who wasn't aware of the TikTok challenge.
As the daughter who takes things less seriously, Grier has shared how important Rowan's outlook on life is in dealing with her own issues. "She knows how not to be stressed by what other people think, which is something I need to learn," Grier told People in August 2024. "And if I need her to have my back, she will."
2021: Like mother, like daughter
In 2021, Rowan Henchy joined the ranks of nepo babies who've worn their celeb mom's iconic dresses. And hey, when your mom is Brooke Shields, how could you not shop her closet? Henchy decided to go with the simple, yet sophisticated full-length red dress by Richard Tyler that Shields wore to the 1998 Golden Globes. While Henchy's caption for the series of photos she posted on Instagram was simply, "Thanks for the dress mom," Shields, of course — in true emotional mom form — went a little deeper than that.
"I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998," wrote Shields in her Instagram caption. "But nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom ❤️ proud mama!" Shields was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series in both 1997 and 1998 for her role in "Suddenly Susan." Although Shields didn't win either year, she rocked that Richard Tyler dress, and years later, got to see Henchy rock it in her own way.
2025: Owning the red carpet just like her mama taught her
Not every 22-year-old gets to attend the 2025 Glamour Women of the Year event at The Plaza, but Rowan Henchy did just that. Wearing an ankle-length gold gown with feather embellishments at the cuffs, Henchy truly embraced old Hollywood glamour in a way that many younger celebrities just don't. This wasn't the first time Henchy had attended the event, having gone the year before with her mother, Brooke Shields.
Although there's no telling what the future holds for Henchy, unlike some nepo babies, she seems to have a good head on her shoulders — even if she's been indulging in nepo status by being on the set of Bravo's "Next Gen NYC" in October 2025. That being said, Henchy does seem to be doing some things differently. For example, she has been very honest about her life with Type 1 diabetes (T1D), putting her in the small group of celebrities who are open about living with chronic illness. She's also done advertisements on her Instagram for Omnipod, which delivers insulin to the body, educating her followers in the process about T1D. In other words, in addition to her stunning transformation, Henchy is one to watch in the coming years.
