You Won't Recognize Dolly Parton In Pics Before Plastic Surgery
Dolly Parton has come a long way since her modest childhood in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. But it's not just her life that has had a dramatic transformation over the years, because the legendary country star also looks like a completely different person. In addition to Parton's many hair transformations, the "Here You come Again" hitmaker has become known for her over-the-top feminine appearance, a fact that she has been open about and embraced.
Still, the difference is striking, especially when looking at side-by-side pics of the star from the '60s and now. In 1965, Parton was around 19 and sans cosmetic procedures, though she still rocked the big hair that's become part of her staple look. In another snap from 1977 (when Parton was in her early 30s) she had dimples and what appeared to be a more prominent nose than in her later years. And we know why, because the Tennessean has always been open about her many nips and tucks, though she told "60 Minutes Australia" she didn't get any plastic surgery on her face until she turned 40.
Dolly Parton has confirmed multiple plastic surgeries
Dolly Parton has been honest about her multiple cosmetic surgeries. During a 2003 appearance on "Larry King Live," she confirmed she'd had a facelift, surgery around her eyes, liposuction, and excess skin removal. She also shared she had lip fillers and Botox injections (which can be about more than just vanity). When asked by host Larry King why she chose to be so open, Parton admitted, "I don't want to lie about it. It's like I think sometimes it might help ... But if somebody wants to know something, I always say if I see something sagging, dragging or bagging, I'm going to go have it stuck, tucked or plucked."
The singer also got candid about her various procedures on "Howard Stern" two decades later, sharing she was still a fan of fillers and Botox. "I always say, 'Just find the best doctors,'" she said when asked about going under the knife, admitting she's more selective about the plastic surgery she gets on her face than her body. "You've just got to be very careful not to overdo it because you never know, anytime you go under the knife you could come out looking not good," she said. "... I try to be careful."
One surgery philanthropic icon Parton has denied though? Breast injections. The star has been very honest about her chest over the years, admitting to Chicago Tribune in 1992, "I've been known for my boobs long before people started having the implants, and I have never had silicone injections." However, she did confirm that she'd undergone a breast lift and later told "60 Minutes Australia" a breast augmentation was the one plastic surgery she had before her 40th birthday.
