Sydney Sweeney is no stranger to a plastic surgery rumor, as the "Euphoria" star has faced countless nip and tuck allegations over the years. One of the most notable came from Dr. Emma Coleman, dermatology and aesthetic RGN at Emma Coleman Skin, who speculated to Express U.S. that Sweeney may have had a brow lift, a chin implant, and a jawline rejuvenation. There's also been plenty of chatter from everyday people about the actor's looks on X, with multiple users accusing her of getting a breast augmentation. One social media user even claimed, "Sydney Sweeney is obviously a gorgeous woman, but it's clear that she's had the help of minor plastic surgery & a great makeup artist to really elevate her looks. For all the men that think how she looks ... is natural, sorry to break it to you but it's not!" But, if you ask Sweeney, it is.
The star hit back at the allegations while speaking to Variety in October 2025, stating, "I've never gotten anything done. I'm absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I'm going to age gracefully." She added, "It's really funny. I'll see things online like 'comparison pictures.' I'm like, 'I'm 12 in that photo. Of course I'm going to look different. I have makeup on now and I'm 15 years older.'" Sweeney also slammed claims she'd gone under the knife with Allure two months later, also seemingly shutting down speculation she's had Botox (which can have health benefits outside of vanity). "One beauty rumor? Let's debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done. I am so scared of needles, you have no idea ... I am too scared of needles," she said.
Sydney Sweeney considered plastic surgery as a teenager
Sydney Sweeney may have denied getting plastic surgery and cosmetic injectables, but that doesn't mean she hasn't ever considered it. The star told Glamour U.K. she wanted a breast reduction (a procedure multiple celebrities have been open about) when she was 18. "My mom told me, 'Don't do it. You'll regret it in college.' And I'm so glad I didn't. I like them. They're my best friends," she said. "Everybody's body is beautiful. When you are confident and you're happy within is when it really shows to other people," she added.
The Washington native has also been open about her journey to loving herself, admitting she has days where she doesn't feel overly confident about her looks. "It's definitely hard because I know I'm a role model and I want to show that I am confident and I'm also a real person," she told Yahoo! Life. "I think it's important for everyone to know that everyone's a real person and everyone has feelings and it's okay if you don't feel confident one day, but just know that you're beautiful, no matter what."
Part of what helps Sweeney with her confidence appears to be her regimented skincare routine, as the actor has been open about her skin struggles. "I have really sensitive, horrible, combination skin, and if I don't mix an exfoliant and a gel cleanser, my skin doesn't let makeup sit on my face," she told Vogue. Sweeney revealed a few of her go-to products, sharing she keeps her complexion glowing with the likes of Avène's Cleanance Cleansing Gel Soap Free Cleanser and The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum.
