What Young Sheldon's Leading Ladies Look Like Going Makeup Free
There must have been something in the water on the "Young Sheldon" set, because the sitcom's leading ladies are so stunning without makeup. From Annie Potts' (aka Meemaw) youthful glow to Mckenna Grace (aka Paige Swanson)'s enviable unaided face-framing eyebrows, "The Big Bang Theory" spin-off cast has us so envious of how good they look without hours in the makeup room. But they're not only daring to bare their clean faces across social media, as some have also opened up about the importance of embracing less or no-makeup days to let their skin breathe.
Speaking to Us Weekly, Mandy McAllister actor Emily Osment admitted she prefers not to paint her face with full-coverage foundation, heavy mascara, and lipstick when she's not working. "I wear a lot of makeup on ['Young Sheldon' spin-off 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.'] I'm wearing a lot of makeup right now. And it's kind of nice on the daily ... to just keep it more simple," she said. But we're not surprised this star is a fan of less is more beauty when she can, because photos of her and her co-stars sans makeup confirm they're just as stunning without it.
Zoe Perry
Zoe Perry, better known as"Young Sheldon"'s Mary Cooper, is gorgeous in real life, and she proved that in an Instagram snap with her husband after they adopted a dog. Perry appeared to ditch cosmetics for the happy occasion, but her skin still glowed in the natural light. Her lips were a little lighter than we're used to seeing on the show when she's wearing lipstick, but she didn't appear to have any obvious signs of fine lines or wrinkles on her forehead. Instead, her face looked healthy and tan as she flashed a big smile.
Raegan Revord
Missy Cooper actor Raegan Revord appeared to be sans makeup in a carousel of Instagram images showing her having fun with her friends. In one shot, Revord (who has her own book club) steered a boat and smiled over her shoulder, proving she's totally a natural, down to earth beauty. The actor's sun-kissed, youthful glow was obvious and, despite being 16 at the time of the photo, wasn't showing signs of a teenage breakout. We couldn't believe how defined her eyes still were without liner or mascara, and her lips were a gorgeous mauve shade without lipstick.
Annie Potts
Just like her character, Connie Tucker, the glam Meemaw on "Young Sheldon," actor Annie Potts loves to look her best, often rocking faux lashes and sophisticated lipstick shades. But she proved she doesn't need cosmetics in one bare-faced Instagram snap while dying her own hair. Though her real lashes weren't quite as fluttery as when she wears falsies, Potts didn't seem to have any blemishes or dry skin patches, while her dark brows were just as prominent as when they're filled in; a feature that can be tough to maintain as one ages.
Emily Osment
Emily Osment is no stranger to ditching cosmetics before going on camera. In a gorgeous snap shared to Instagram, the Mandy McAllister actor (who's had a stunning real-life evolution) dialed back the years as she took in the great outdoors. The former "Hannah Montana" actor looked younger than her age (she was 30) and showed off a few subtle freckles and a natural, healthy flush over her cheeks. "Beautiful," one fan commented with a heart eye emoji. "Such a beauty," another comment read.
Reba McEntire
We don't see Reba McEntire without makeup very often, but we got a peek at her au naturel in an Instagram upload from Melissa Peterman. The country music star, who played June on "Young Sheldon," covered her eyes with sunglasses, but her natural beauty was still obvious. McEntire, who's made some makeup mistakes over the years, didn't appear to be wearing lipstick or lip-gloss in the photo, though her red brows were a little less prominent than when she's all made up. Still, her skin still looked even, flawless, and healthy, proving age really is just a number.
Wendie Malick
Wendie Malick appeared on "Young Sheldon" as school President Linda Hagemeyer between seasons 4 and 7, and her character was usually fully made up with not a hair out of place. In real-life though, the "Hot In Cleveland" actor doesn't mind keeping things more real. She posed without a drop of makeup alongside Jane Leeves in an X photo, and she looked beyond gorgeous. Malick's skin looked tan and smooth and she didn't have dark circles under her eyes, blemishes, or any signs of hyperpigmentation as she smiled for the camera.
Melissa Peterman
Brenda Sparks actor Melissa Peterman is another star who proves all "Young Sheldon"'s leading ladies are stunning before and after cosmetics. In 2024, she took a selfie without spending hours in the makeup chair and shared it via Instagram, showing us she doesn't need cosmetics to stun. Peterman had a youthful, healthy-looking complexion with naturally rosy cheeks with seriously full lips, even without lipliner or a plumping gloss. The star's rounder face and lack of contour also helped her look younger, and we couldn't get over how much her blue eyes pierced through the screen unaided by eyeliner.
Danielle Pinnock
Danielle Pinnock (who portrayed Evelyn Ingram, Sheldon's math teacher, between seasons 1 and 4) is a confident and natural beauty. The actor gave us a glimpse at what she looks like first thing in the morning via an Instagram video skit, which showed her looking comfy and casual. The beauty didn't wear so much as a single layer of mascara or concealer in the clip, and we were totally envious of how bright and smooth her complexion looked without it. We also couldn't get over how perfect and full her shaped brows were without pomade or brow gel.
Mckenna Grace
Mckenna Grace made a splash playing Paige Swanson between "Young Sheldon" Seasons 2 to 6, a character who experimented with makeup more as she grew up on the show. In real life, though, Grace is stunning without getting gussied up and proved that in photos from her hospital bed posted to Instagram. In the candid snap, she didn't appear to have a drop of foundation on her skin, but seemed to be wearing semi-permanent lash extensions, which helped her eyes stand out. The young star had a few visible natural freckles and perfectly manicured, dark eyebrows.
