Pics Of Alexis Bledel And Lauren Graham's Post-Gilmore Girls Transformation
If you're a fan of "Gilmore Girls," then you know that October 5, 2025 marked 25 years since the series premiered. For seven seasons, audiences tuned in every week to watch the lives of Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, unfold in the fictional town of Stars Hollow where everyone knew each other and problems were quickly resolved. "There's no violence," the show's costume designer Brenda Maben told The New York Times in January 2024. "It's just small-town love, basically, and that's why I think people like it. It makes them feel safe and warm and cozy. It just brings up good feelings."
Although 25 years have passed since that first episode and it's been over 18 years since the series ended, people still love to revisit the series — especially when cozy season arrives and the need to swoon over Jess again pops up. Not only that, the series is garnering new fans all the time. According to 2024 research by Nielsen, it was the seventh most-watched show in 2023 across all streaming platforms, and there seems to be no end to think pieces — from Time to The Independent to even the John Hopkins Newsletter — on why "Gilmore Girls" has become such a phenomenon.
While fans may still be in 2002 Stars Hollow, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, who played Lorelai and Rory, respectively, have moved on with their careers and lives. Graham became an author and played the role of Sarah Braverman in "Parenthood" for six seasons, while Bledel had roles in "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Mad Men." In other words, the post-"Gilmore Girls" days have been very good to Graham and Bledel, and it shows.
2009: Bledel showing her support for Graham's film The Answer Man
In July 2009, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel attended the after party for "The Answer Man" premiere, a rom-com in which Graham starred opposite Jeff Daniels. It had only been two years since "Gilmore Girls" came to an end and, frankly, neither Graham nor Bledel look much different in this photo. If anything, it looks like they're still in Stars Hollow about to chug a cup of coffee. But for fans to see them together and know that Bledel had come out to support Graham's movie, was as special moment. While they may not be dressed like their Stars Hollow characters, the energy is still the same.
2011: Still baby faced, but moving on in their careers
In 2011, it was Alexis Bledel's turn to attend a movie premiere of her own. Although there are no photos of Lauren Graham being in attendance, here Bledel is at the opening of "Violet and Daisy," at the Toronto Film Festival. Although Bledel looks adorable, as always, she's still very young and has a world of growing up to do — especially stylistically, because she can (and eventually will) do so much better than this mini dress. That same year Graham attended the 4th Annual Television Academy Honors in May wearing this bright red, skin-tight dress. Graham attended the event with her then-partner, Peter Krause, who played her brother on "Parenthood."
2013: Starting to come into their own, both professionally and personally
Just two years after she attended her movie premiere, "Violent and Daisy" at TIFF, Alexis Bledel arrived at the 2013 SAG Awards in this gorgeous dark green Rena Lange dress, looking like a fashion icon in the making. Not only is the dress an ideal design and color for her skin tone, but Bledel has clearly started to experiment with eye makeup in a more grown up way than in the past. In July of that same year, Lauren Graham attended the 2013 Television Critics Association rocking this black-and-white, curve-hugging dress. Although it had only been six years post-"Gilmore Girls," both Bledel and Graham were aging like fine wine, and coming into their own, fashionably speaking.
2016: Partaking in a Gilmore Girls fan event in Berlin
In November 2016, we finally got to see Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham together again when they attended a "Gilmore Girls" fan meetup at Admiralspalast in Berlin. Both Bledel and Graham looked absolutely stunning in the looks they chose for the event. Graham, who clearly knows how to show off her assets, wore a body hugging, belted black dress with dark gold heels. To complete her look, she went casual with her hair, wearing it down and showing off her ultimate beachy waves. Bledel took a more conservative route in a tea-length pleated skirt with a black top, black cardigan, and black heels. Bledel went for what was mostly an updo, leaving some bangs down in the front.
2016: Looking chic and sophisticated for the LA premiere of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life
Just eight days after their joint appearance in Berlin, on November 18, 2016, Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham attended the premiere of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," in Los Angeles. Again, both women stuck to the color black in designs that not only flatter them, but also fit their personalities. Graham wore another fitted black dress, while Bledel opted for a floor-length black gown with embellishments. "It's like a chance to have a do-over," Bledel told Glamour in November 2016 about the four-episode revival. "You never really get that in life. To get to reimagine the same character eight years later, it's kind of great, creatively, to get to do that."
2018: Evolving into an Emmy Award winner and a New York Times best selling novelist
In September 2018, Alexis Bledel attended the 70th Emmy Awards as a nominee for her performance in "The Handmaid's Tale," wearing this somewhat whimsical pink and yellow dress by Delpozo. Although she didn't take home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series that night, she had won for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series the year before for her portrayal of Dr. Emily Malek/Ofglen in "The Handmaid's Tale." While Lauren Graham didn't collect any awards in 2018, she did attend a Women in Entertainment even that same year, wearing a casual head-to-toe black outfit with a white blazer. By 2018, Graham had published two books, both of which were New York Times best sellers.
2020: Bringing glamour to 2020 awards season
Before the world shutdown in 2020, both Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham made the award shows rounds. In January, Bledel attended the 26th Annual SAG Awards rocking this stunning full-length Temperly London gown and holding a matching clutch. Bledel's makeup perfectly complemented the dress, with just the right amount of goth-meets-sophistication. That same month, Lauren Graham hit up the 77th Annual Golden Globes in this bright red, one-shoulder gown by Azzi & Osta. On both occasions, Bledel and Graham proved they're officially among the celebs who have mastered the art of the red lip, despite each wearing a different shade of the iconic color.
2024: Embracing colors in their own ways
When Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham talked to Glamour in November 2016 about what makes the dynamic between Rory and Lorelai so compelling, Bledel said, "Because they're so different, like 'The Odd Couple.' They have opposite personalities and preferences... they really complement one another and are each really distinctly drawn characters in their own right." As we've seen in their post "Gilmore Girls" transformations, the same can be said for Bledel and Graham too. In March 2024, Bledel attended an event for Elton John's AIDS foundation wearing this lovely tangerine dress and her hair half-up half-down. In stark contrast, in many different ways, Graham appeared on "Fox Upfront" wearing this yellow and black pantsuit that wasn't doing her any favors. But kudos to Graham for the bold attempt.
2025: Together again 25 years after it all began
For the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2025, not only did Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham both attend, but they also took the stage together to present the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Graham wore a black gown with 3D sheer poppies by Akris, while Bledel wore a strapless silver gown by Marmar Halim. Despite the 25 years that had passed, both Graham and Bledel didn't look much different. Because "Gilmore Girls" is the gift that keeps giving, just a couple months later in December 2025, Graham announced her next book will give fans of the show the ultimate treat: an exclusive behind the scenes look. In other words, there's no end to "Gilmore Girls" in sight.
