Side-By-Side Pics Of Millie Bobby Brown's First And Last Stranger Things Premiere Are Jarring (In A Good Way)

With the fifth and final season of "Stranger Things" streaming on November 26, it's going to be hard for fans to say goodbye to their favorite Hawkins, Indiana, kids. The Netflix hit premiered almost 10 years ago, with the series featuring tweens, including Millie Bobby Brown, who has had a stunning style transformation since her breakout role. Now, at 21 years old, the actor is all grown up, and her latest "Stranger Things" premiere look shows just how much she's changed in the best possible way.

In 2016, Brown's red-carpet 'fit consisted of a champagne-colored dress with lace details on the bodice, which was just perfect for the then-12-year-old. After shaving her head for the role of Eleven, the "Enola Holmes" star was in the process of growing out her locks and sported a celebrity pixie cut that'll inspire your next super short haircut. The look was a far cry from the daring black corset dress Brown wore to the Los Angeles premiere of "Stranger Things" on November 6. While she kept her makeup simple, her stunning cheekbones were on full display with an elegant updo that allowed her drop earrings and dramatic feathered shoulders to take the spotlight. Viewers have watched Brown literally mature right before their eyes, and navigating fame while growing into adulthood wasn't always easy for her as she experimented with different fashions.

Millie Bobby Brown defended her right to wear whatever she wants

Millie Bobby Brown, whose natural hair color is brunette, has tried different shades over the years, but that's not the only thing she's transformed throughout her career. As she's aged, her style has evolved as well, resulting in her naturally wearing more mature clothes. However, this has appeared to bother some fans. In an interview with MTV News in 2021, Brown shared, "Being a young girl, people watch you grow up, right? And they almost become invested in your growth and your journey, but they aren't ready to accept the fact that you're growing up." She continued, "So, I wear a crop top and people are like, 'She's 10.' I'm like, 'No, I mean, I am 17.'"

After much commentary regarding her looks, Brown took to Instagram to address haters. "I started in this industry when I was 10 years old. I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can't seem to grow with me. Instead, they act like I'm supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on 'Stranger Things' Season 1." She added, "I refuse to apologize for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can't handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself." A fan applauded, "Great message Millie!!! Stand your ground and speak your truth!!"
