Kris Jenner may have just hit a milestone birthday, but it seems this year didn't come with any more humility. To mark the occasion, the Kardashian matriarch threw herself a lavish bash, and though the internet can't stop talking about how stunning she looks, her shameless social media posts about the event only emphasize how out of touch she is with the world.

In an Instagram post shared on November 9, the reality star recapped the evening to her followers writing in the caption: "Magical night celebrating my 70th birthday with beautiful family and friends." While the jaw-dropping event and guest list were truly spectacular, throwing a multi-million-dollar party and boasting about it on social media was completely tone-deaf, especially during times when folks are struggling financially. One Instagram user pointed out, "Millions and Billions while the little people have 1/3rd of their food stamps for Thanksgiving. This should have been a charity even to raise money for food banks." 

This is not just about the Kardashian-Jenner clan wearing inappropriate wedding guest outfits, which warrants its own eye roll. This isn't to say that Jenner didn't look great in the photos and doesn't deserve to celebrate another year of her life. However, the fanfare and its subsequent media posts feels like a middle finger to those who can't even afford birthday presents for their kids, much less food, after the U.S. government shutdown led to a pause on dispersing SNAP benefits. This is especially the case as the party happened on the heels of Donald Trump's multi-million dollar Great Gatsby-themed party, which numerous social media users and outlets criticized. Of course, Jenner isn't a politician, but flexing about her opulent life shows just how removed she is from the economic crisis, and her repeated birthday posts displaying her star-studded guest list are only making her look more tactless

We get that Kris Jenner wanted to celebrate her 70th birthday in style and show off her unforgettable 2025 transformation, but she could have just done it quietly. However, with all the compliments pouring in on how well-connected she is, Jenner seemingly wanted to soak it all in with not just one, but four carousels of Instagram pictures featuring big names like Naomi Watts, Mariah Carey, and Beyoncé. A fan wrote on the "Kardashians" star's Instagram post, "This birthday party was bigger than the Golden Globes, Oscars, Grammys, and Emmys combined." Jenner did somehow manage to get a roomful of stars to show up to her event, and it looks like she wanted everyone to know.

Jenner's guest list was a who's who of Hollywood, and the amount of net worth in that room was staggering. Jeff Bezos, who hosted the party at his mansion, is worth over $260 billion, per Bloomberg. And, party planner Jennifer Wadsworth estimated the cost of the bash to be around $4 million to possibly $6.5 million, per the Daily Mail. "If she had donated the cost of this party to feed starving children," an Instagram user lamented. Another shared on the "Kardashians" star's Instagram post, "The poorest person there can feed the whole world." One stated, "Everyone looks beautiful, but it's giving 'let them eat cake.'" It seems Jenner needs to eat some humble pie instead.
