Celebrity Marriages We Don't Think Will Survive 2026

We love a celebrity marriage, but it feels like celebrity divorces are more common than weddings these days, and 2026 looks set to bring even more splits. We've learned that even though high-profile duos may look happy on social media or the red carpet, it doesn't necessarily mean all is well behind the scenes. Case and point? Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban. Though Kidman and Urban had a few red flags, we were still shocked when the one-time golden couple announced their divorce in September 2025.

But maybe we shouldn't have been, because marriages between our favorite actors, singers, sports stars, and more don't exactly have a reputation for being long-lasting. Research by celebrity divorce lawyer Vanessa Lloyd-Platt of Lloyd Platt and Co. found the average celeb marriage lasts as little as 7.4 years. "Celebrity marriages very often come to an early demise. The reason for this is simple and is often referred to by divorce practitioners as Competing Ego Syndrome. Put simply, this is a clash between the ego of very high-profile celebrities who vie for attention of the public," she said. Of course, in reality, there are many reasons why high-profile couples go their separate ways, and as much as we hate to say it, there are several famous faces showing signs they may become divorcees instead of ringing in 2026 together.

Vice President JD Vance made headlines for various reasons in 2025, but one of the most talked-about aspects of his life has been his marriage to Usha Vance and his eyebrow-raising hug with Erika Kirk. After Kirk invited JD on stage at a Turning Point USA event in October 2025, they smiled at each other before hugging, and Kirk placed her hand on the back of his head. Body language and nonverbal communication expert and author Patti Wood broke down the hug seen around the world to HuffPost, sharing, "They're pressed up against each other, he is smiling, and the little crème de la crème on the sexual aspect of that interaction, besides the pelvis placement, is she's running her hands through his hair." Wood added, "... If you look at the fingers, there's a tightening, that's a curling around of the fingers, meaning she is pulling him closer." Yikes.

Social media users went into a frenzy, with many speculating the intimate moment could lead to a Vance divorce. And we wouldn't be surprised if these two announced a split either. "Vance is going to divorce his wife and marry Erika Kirk," one X user speculated. "Prediction: JD Vance will divorce his wife and marry Charlie Kirk's widow," another suggested.

But the notorious embrace isn't the only reason we can see them splitting in 2026. Usha and JD had several other moments in 2025 that had us convinced they're headed for divorce, including when JD failed to give a shoutout to his wife for Mother's Day (despite praising mothers in general on X), and asking her to denounce her Hinduism.

It pains us to think about a possible split between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, but sadly, we can see it. Star claimed in November that they were supposedly experiencing trouble in paradise, with a source claiming, "Gwen and Blake have been spending an awful lot of time apart lately." They added, "It's become a talking point amongst friends and fans that they're living separate lives. A lot of people think the magic's started to wear off." 

Smoke doesn't always mean fire, but, unfortunately, it wasn't the only time divorce rumors swirled around them in 2025, as Radar Online shared a similar take eight months earlier. That insider claimed they were struggling to make their different personalities mesh, as he's an Oklahoma country boy who loves hunting, and she's a glam California native. "For him to proudly wave his kill in front of her is unbearable. She's made that very clear to Blake, but he brushes her complaints aside — and their relationship is now at breaking point," the source said. We've noticed a few other red flags between Stefani and Shelton as well.

But there's another sign these two may not make it. At the start of their romance, Stefani regularly littered her social media with photos of herself and Shelton. At the time of writing, though, she hasn't shared a loved-up post with her husband since his birthday in June 2025. Stefani has also appeared more absent from Shelton's Instagram grid. Though he acknowledged her birthday in October via a photo of them kissing (with the caption, "Y'all help me wish @gwenstefani a happy birthday!!!!!! I love you pretty girl!!!!!"), the cozy snap wasn't new. It was the same one she shared on Instagram for his birthday all the way back in 2017.

The Biebers can't seem to go more than a few weeks without divorce rumors swirling, and there's every chance 2026 will see them go their separate ways. We have good reason for thinking so, too. In 2025, Justin faced backlash for controversial comments he made about his wife after she appeared on the cover of Vogue. "Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight, I told hails that she would never be on the cover of vogue. Yikes I know, so mean," he wrote in his since-deleted Instagram caption (via Teen Vogue). Justin later changed the caption. That came after the "What Do You Mean?" hitmaker also alluded to personal issues in another Instagram post. "I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much smh," he wrote. Not long after that, Hailey was spotted without her wedding ring (she's since put it back on).

Though we have to praise Justin for vowing to work on his issues, naturally, all the drama sparked a lot of divorce chatter. "Justin pushes Hailey to her breaking point, and things explode, and all sorts of threats and promises are made, and then they make up, and things are good for a while before the cycle starts again," a source claimed to Star in July 2025. They also claimed the singer had vowed to mend his ways, but noted, "Hailey's accepted his promises, but she's also made it very clear this is his final shot. She loves him, but she can't keep living on this rollercoaster with him." If the rumors are true and Hailey feels her marriage is no longer serving her, it's vital she does what's best for herself and their son, Jack.

We've noticed some majorly strange things about Kristi Noem's marriage with Bryon Noem, and they're not showing signs of letting up in 2026. Kristi has faced allegations of an affair with Corey Lewandowski for years, with Daily Mail first purporting they were together in 2019. An onlooker then told Daily Mail in April 2025, "There's no question the relationship is ongoing ... Very clearly, they're still having an extra-marital relationship." Though Kristi has denied the claims, the constant chatter can't be easy on her husband. In fact, his social media is regularly flooded with references to the infidelity rumors, with one Instagram user commenting on an August upload showing him on the golf course with friends, "You're not embarrassed by your wife cheating on you?"

Not only have the Noems faced cheating allegations, but a source told the New York Post in 2023 that the couple supposedly hadn't lived together (at least full-time) since 2021. They also very rarely appear on each other's social media accounts. Despite Kristi posting regularly on Instagram, at the time of writing, she hadn't posted a photo on her grid that prominently features her husband since Father's Day 2025. And that's far from a green flag.
