The Real-Life Partners Of Hallmark's Leading Ladies
Most Hallmark movies have one thing in common: love. Many of the channel's most notable movies involve the classic girl meets boy trope (with a mix-up or two thrown in) and, despite all the red flags we've spotted in Hallmark movies, they still have a soft spot in so many people's hearts. Including ours. If you're anything like us, you've probably found yourself watching and wondering what's going on in the real love lives of the network's most famous stars.
Well, we're happy to report that many of the cable network's most recognizable leads are all loved up. Some even met their partners on set — and it doesn't get more Hallmark than that. From Lacey Chabert's love to Taylor Cole's boo, these are the men standing beside the Hallmark Channel's leading ladies.
Alison Sweeney met her husband when they were kids
Alison Sweeney is one of the staples of the Hallmark Channel, with appearances in the "Hannah Swensen Mysteries" series, "A Magical Christmas Village," and "To Barcelona, With Love," to name a few. Off-screen, her love life is just like a Hallmark movie because she had an adorable meet-cute with her husband, retired cop Dave Sanov. "His dad and my mom play the violin for feature-film soundtracks, so we've actually known each other our whole lives. I totally had a crush on him when we were kids," she told Access. The two reconnected as adults, and the rest is history.
In July 2025, the happy couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. "Can you believe it? We're celebrating our 25th anniversary tonight. Time flies when you're having fun," the former "Days of our Lives" actor wrote on Instagram. "We had a wonderful dinner sharing memories and telling each other that we look exactly the same. Lol." In those 25 years, the twosome welcomed two children, a daughter named Megan and a son named Benjamin.
The star revealed an interesting tidbit about checking in with her husband in 2015, which showed how strong their communication skills still are. "Every year on our anniversary, we have a dinner date and talk about how our relationship is going. We kind of give each other a job evaluation, which sounds a little embarrassing!" she told Health (via E! News). "We talk about our three favorite things about the other person and then three things that we could work on," she added, which is a great example of how to be direct with a partner.
Lacey Chabert had a Hallmark-esque winter wedding with David Nehdar
Lacey Chabert, the star of movies like "A Christmas Melody," "My Secret Valentine," and "The Crossword Mysteries," proved Hallmark rubbed off on her when she tied the knot with David Nehdar over the Holidays. The star confirmed the news on X, writing, "I'm starting off 2014 as a Mrs! Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life ... we became husband & wife!" Her announcement caught the Hallmark Channel's attention, as the network responded, "CONGRATULATIONS to you & your husband! We [heart] you!"
But, unlike the channel's romantic offerings, Chabert's celeb wedding wasn't a total spectacle. In fact, she told People she purposefully kept her nuptials with her businessman hubby quiet. "I didn't want it to feel like an event. I wanted it to be personal," she said. "He's not in the business and we like our privacy, and I just think relationships are hard enough without the opinion of strangers. So we try to keep it as personal and private as possible." Three years after they tied the knot, Chabert and Nehdar became parents. The former "Mean Girls" star confirmed on Instagram that they'd welcomed a baby girl named Julia Mimi Bella.
Chabert has shied away from discussing her relationship in public and doesn't share her husband on social media. However, she made rare comments to Swooon about their relationship in 2025. "It really is the little things and then, of course, romantic gestures are always welcome and always wonderful, but I think especially we've been married 10 years now and marriage is just knowing that we see each other," she said. "It's feeling acknowledged and feeling appreciated and just feeling that love. [It's] so genuine. I'm so grateful for it."
Julie Gonzalo is loved up with fellow Hallmark star Chris McNally
Julia Gonzalo has been a Hallmark Channel staple since 2016. The "Dodgeball: An Underdog Story" and "Supergirl" star has appeared in a host of the channel's movies, including "Happy Holidays from Cherry Lane," "Cut, Color, Murder," and "Jingle Bell Bride." But her association with Hallmark goes deeper than just acting for the network, because she also found love on set (which was so very Hallmark of her).
Gonzalo is happily in love with Chris McNally, with whom she starred in "The Sweetest Heart." The two initially kept their relationship under the radar, but made it clear they were a couple in 2022 when they announced the birth of their first child. Gonzalo shared an adorable photo on Instagram of their newborn holding both of their fingers and tagged McNally on the post. "Our hearts are full ... Welcome baby M," she captioned the upload, alongside a red heart emoji. The two have since made their relationship a little more public, with Gonzalo sharing a sweet Instagram snap of them getting cozy for Valentine's Day. The twosome even teamed up again on screen when they starred alongside one another in Hallmark's "3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost."
Taylor Cole got married during the pandemic
"Falling For You," "One Winter Proposal," and the "Ruby Herring Mysteries" star Taylor Cole didn't let the COVID-19 pandemic get in the way of her happily ever after. Cole is another actor who found love on the set of a Hallmark movie, as she tied the knot with producer Cameron Larson in June 2020. "Thank you for my real life Hallmark love story @hallmarkchannel," the star wrote on Instagram when sharing photos of their big day. The two scaled down their wedding plans to abide by social distancing restrictions as they didn't want to put tying the knot on hold. "We couldn't wait — we were too excited to profess our love and commit to each other. It sounds a little cheesy, but when you know you know, and we wanted our forever to start as soon as possible," Cole told People. The twosome's smaller-than-planned big day was live-streamed to their family and friends.
Cole has kept her relationship under the radar since tying the knot, but explained why on Instagram in 2025 when she and Larson celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. The actor shared a sweet compilation video to commemorate the occasion and told her followers, "You don't see him on here much because public affection isn't exactly his thing ... But trust me, he's everything behind the scenes. Quiet strength. Steady heart. Always in my corner. Always believing in us even when I'm doubting the next shot." The actor also shared that she and her husband were trying to become parents.
Jodie Sweetin married Mescal Wasilewski after a difficult love life
Jodie Sweetin has appeared in a slew of Hallmark movies since 2017, including "The Jane Mysteries" series, "A Cozy Christmas Inn," and "Love Under The Rainbow." In real life, however, she got her happy ending with clinical social worker Mescal Wasilewski. The two dated for five years before tying the knot, walking down the aisle just five months after he popped the question. The former "Full House" star gushed over her man when announcing their engagement on Facebook, writing, "I love you Mescal, for always. You're my person. I can't wait to see the life that lies ahead for us." The actor also publicly shared her love for Wasilewski while speaking to People shortly after their wedding. "I know I have the right partner for the rest of whatever life brings me. And I couldn't be more grateful," she said.
Before her fourth marriage, though, Sweetin's love life was even more dramatic than a Hallmark movie. The actor is three times divorced, having previously tied the knot with Shaun Holguin, Cody Herpin, and Morty Coyle between 2002 and 2016. She also got engaged to Justin Hodak in 2016, but they split the following year.
