The Outdated Hairstyle Christina Haack Needs To Ditch

Since 2013, HGTV star Christina Haack has entertained America with her signature mix of scoring epic real estate deals and crafting modern interiors that generally seem to ebb and flow quite well with the change of seasons and fleeting interior trends. From her very first show, "Flip or Flop," to "The Flip Off" Christina has proved she has staying power, but it may only be her design power – she loves a good yet somewhat outdated boho braided look. For the last decade or so, every chance she gets she's spotted sporting an oversized boho braided crown or a side braid that's somewhat become a signature look of hers. She must really love her braids because, despite having had quite a transformation since her big HGTV debut, it's the one thing she refuses to update. 

While boho braids are fun and undeniably charming, they're not the best at capturing the sophistication Haack's expertise has to offer — or the modern aesthetic she's come to be known for through her design work. Don't get us wrong — the hairstyle can be cutesy, carefree, and beachy, but the HGTV star wears braids everywhere. Whether it's celebrating a friend's birthday, filming one of her shows, or even attending a derby, you'll often see her rocking a braid. It seems like the braids have even rubbed off on her close friend and co-parenting partner, Heather Rae El Moussa, as she was seen in February 2025 with eerily similar side braids to that of Haack. 

Christina Haack has most definitely mastered the art of braided hair — no one can deny that — but maybe it's time for the HGTV star to try something new. It's been almost a decade since she started wearing braids in her hair, and Haack could seriously benefit from a look that better matches the modern and elevated direction of her brand. We'd absolutely love to see Haack's hairstyle evolve as much as her career as a real estate developer, interior designer, and TV personality has.

It's understandable why she's so drawn to boho braids as she is a California native through and through. The easy, beachy aesthetic is practically part of her identity, but it's time for a change. Instead of always wearing her hair down with a braid or just tied at the top, a sleek updo would look simply amazing on her. Whether it's a clean ponytail like the one Kendall Jenner often wears or a slicked-back bun, which many celebrities have mastered, these types of hairstyles would give her a more polished look. 

A refined updo would not only elevate her aesthetic, but also would highlight her features in a way the heavy boho braids never quite could. Since Haack has built her reputation on knowing when a space needs a update, it's only a matter of time before she gives her go-to hairstyle a refreshing new look. A sleek updo just feels like the perfect next move for "The Flip Off" star.
