The Real-Life Partners Of Some Of Horror's Most Iconic Final Girls

Men are traditionally at the center of most action movies, but when it comes to horror films, it's the heroine who ultimately defeats the boogeyman. Known as Final Girls, these are the characters who outlive all their friends using their smarts and some luck, of course. Many of these women are ordinary people with no special skills, such as Laurie Strode of "Halloween," an unsuspecting babysitter with a deadly stalker. And then there are the teens of "I Know What You Did Last Summer," who are just having a fun Fourth of July, but end up thinking they ran over a fisherman and killed him.

It's hard to imagine Final Girls resuming their lives and being in relationships after enduring so much trauma. However, off-camera, many of these real-life actors have moved on to get married and have kids with their respective partners. Notable horror actors will always live on in our minds as their Final Girl characters, but they're also real people, and we're curious to see who they ended up with outside of the movie sphere. Here's everything to know about who these iconic slasher film stars are tied to.

Jamie Lee Curtis is married to a famous actor

One undeniably important Final Girl is Jamie Lee Curtis, having starred in seven "Halloween" films throughout the franchise's run. In the first movie, the actor was just 19 years old when she made her debut as Laurie Strode, and Curtis has totally transformed since her days as an iconic scream queen. For one, she became a wife in 1984 thanks to a whirlwind romance with fellow actor Christopher Guest, after she became smitten with him while seeing his face grace a magazine. "I was with the writer of the original 'Halloween' when I saw my husband of 37 years for the first time. Debra Hill and I were on my couch in West Hollywood in 1984. I opened up an issue of Rolling Stone, saw Christopher Guest in a 'Spinal Tap' story, and said, 'I'm gonna marry that guy," the "Freaky Friday" star shared with People.

Curtis revealed in a 2004 issue of Oprah Magazine that after seeing Guest's picture, she gave his agent her number, but he never called. After a chance meeting at a restaurant, the two started dating, and three months later, they were engaged. Curtis and Guest went on to adopt two kids together, and the longtime spouses celebrated a milestone in December 2024. "40 years ago today, on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at 4:30, Christopher and I married. We loved each other but barely knew each other. Today, we know each other really well and still love each other," Curtis gushed on Instagram.

Jennifer Love Hewitt fell in love with her husband at first sight

Jennifer Love Hewitt's transformation has been killer at every age, from becoming a Final Girl as Julie James in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" to marrying her "Client List" co-star, Brian Hallisay. The latter is where the two fell in love, but the couple actually met previously while filming the pilot for "Love Bites," and while the scream queen was instantly enamored with him, it took Hallisay a while to return her feelings. "I don't know that it was instant for him. But it was instant for me, and it wasn't just what he looked like. He was kind, and he was good and close with his family, and he was smart. We just had fun, and I was smitten. I got lucky enough to end up with him," the "Heartbreakers" star told People.

Hewitt and Hallisay got married in 2013, just days before welcoming their daughter Autumn, and went on to have sons Atticus and Aidan, whom they keep out of the public eye. Hallisay reunited with his wife on-screen in "9-1-1," and Autumn got to be a part of their world as Hewitt's character's daughter in an episode. Hallisay shared with Decider, "It was really fun. It was really cute, and she was super nervous, but I think she nailed it. She did a great job, and she was super proud of herself."

Sigourney Weaver's marriage is over 40 years strong

Sigourney Weaver rose to fame in her iconic role as Ellen Ripley in the 1979 sci-fi horror film "Alien." Four years after the film's success, Weaver met her now-husband, Jim Simpson, while starring in a play at a theater where he was directing other shows. "He was so cute. I remember thinking, 'Well, he's going to be a bachelor for many years. I can see that.' So I didn't really think about him. And I had a boyfriend at the time," Weaver recalled to Jamie Lee Curtis for Interview. Six months later, the "Ghostbusters" star asked him out, and the date obviously went well, as they got hitched three months later.

According to Simpson's IMDb, he directed "The Guys" and was the assistant director for "Event Horizon" and "Spice World." He also directed the play "Crazy Mary," which Weaver starred in as the cousin of the titular character. Weaver, who is a celeb confronting aging with confidence, told Red of being married for decades (via the Daily Mail), "Honestly, it's such a huge leap of faith! Of course, you have to work at it and be willing to communicate, and you have to marry the right person, but you're also taking a huge gamble." She added, "I just feel so fortunate that I married someone with so much 'aloha' because I lead a weird life."

Neve Campbell shares two sons with her longtime partner

Our list wouldn't be complete without one of the most iconic Final Girls: Sidney Prescott of the "Scream" franchise. Played by Neve Campbell, the role was quite a departure from her angsty character in "Party of Five," Julie Salinger, who seemed to have never-ending relationship drama. Campbell's real life wasn't so drama-free either, having had two divorces before settling down with her long-term partner, JJ Feild. The two started dating in 2011 and welcomed their first son, Caspian, in August 2012. Six years later, Campbell and Feild quietly adopted their second son, Raynor.

On how he and Campbell first got together, Feild shared in an interview with ET Canada (via a YouTube fan account), "We met on a film that never happened. We were meant to do a film together many years ago, and we were studying to play musicians. And we were studying music at the Royal College of Music." The "Romanoffs" star revealed that he and Campbell were friends initially, but reconnected a few years later, and the rest is history. Feild and his partner remain super private about their relationship, but a rare Instagram post of the two in May 2023 showed them at the SAG-AFTRA strike. After all, a couple that protests together stays together.
