The Real-Life Partners Of The Spice Girls

When the Spice Girls hit the scene in 1994, they kicked the much-needed girl power movement into high gear. During an era when the media was relentless in its misogyny, sexism, and body shaming of women, the Spice Girls flipped the narrative on its side, helping to usher in the third-wave of feminism. Granted, the Spice Girls were no Bikini Kill — but for the mainstream, they offered a new way of thinking. It was one that allowed women to feel empowered and see themselves as more than what society had prescribed for them.

Now here we are, over three decades later, and the Spice Girls haven't just grown up — they're also all officially middle-aged and settled into their lives with partners and children. While it will always be fun to recall all the Victoria Beckham outfits that totally missed the mark and applaud Mel B for being one of the outspoken celebs who doesn't hide their love of self-pleasure, as the Spice Girls taught us in the '90s: women are more than one thing. In this particular case, these five women are also supportive partners to a very interesting collection of men.

Victoria and David Beckham

Of the five Spice Girls, it's Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham's real-life partner who doesn't need much of an introduction. In 1997, Victoria attended a Manchester United game and immediately caught David Beckham's eye. "She came to a football match — soccer match — and I said hi from across the room and that was it," Beckham told Ellen DeGeneres on the eponymous show in 2008. "I thought I'd missed my chance, and then a week later she turned up at another football match."

It was during the second time they met that Victoria gave David her number, writing it down on a train ticket. In a February 2020 interview with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," David admitted that he still had the ticket. The two married in 1999 shortly after the birth of their first child, Brooklyn.

Although fans of the Spice Girls may think of David Beckham as Mr. Posh Spice, he's also a very accomplished soccer player. Beckham may have retired in 2013, but during his career, he played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. Beckham has won a whopping 19 trophies and, in 2004, was named one of the top 100 soccer players of all time by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). His prolific career has also led to several endorsement deals, making Beckham one of the highest paid soccer players in the world.

Melanie Brown and Rory McPhee

Melanie Brown, also known as Mel B and Scary Spice, hasn't been all that lucky when it comes to relationships. But despite two divorces under her belt, Brown is giving marriage another try with hairstylist Rory McPhee. "I was like, 'I'm never going to get married again. Never, never, never. I'm never having a relationship. I'm fine by myself," Brown told People in March 2024. "And then... never can say never, can you?" Apparently not.

In July 2025, Brown married the Leeds-based hairstylist after being just friends for years. McPhee is a success in his own right, as a co-founder of multiple hair salons in the London area, is an ambassador for Redken, and runs a non-profit. When the couple talked to Hello! Magazine in November 2022, McPhee shared how nervous he was to propose to the Spice Girl. "My lips were trembling," he said. "I'd spent ages writing down all these things I wanted to say, but when it came to it, I just babbled."

With a 13-year difference between the two — Brown is 50 and McPhee is 37 — the couple isn't exactly working with the best age gap for a successful relationship. However, they did start out has friends, as McPhee is actually the best friend of one of Brown's cousins. "I believe in love, and clearly the other two marriages turned out to be not love, from their angle," Brown told People. This is McPhee's first marriage.

Geri Halliwell and Christian Horner

As Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell was regarded as the sex kitten of the Spice Girls — but a lot has changed since the 1990s. Not only has Halliwell had one of the biggest glow-downs in celebrity fashion history, but she's been married to Christian Horner for a decade. While Horner may not be a household name if you're not into car racing, he is a huge deal in the world of Formula One.

From 2005 to 2025, Horner was team principal and CEO of Red Bull in Formula One where he was making £8.92 million (nearly $12 million) a year as of 2023. In July 2025, Horner was fired from his position after sexual harassment allegations arose in 2024; but because his contract isn't up until 2030, he just might walk away with over $80 million. If this happens, it will make Horner the highest paid F1 CEO in history. Horner has denied the allegations and internal investigations have dismissed them as well.

Halliwell and Horner first met in 2009 at the Monaco Grand Prix when Horner was married to Beverley Allen. During the first meeting, Horner tried to kiss Halliwell's cheek, but she pushed him away. The two remained friends and didn't start dating until 2014, although the exact timeline of when their relationship actually began isn't quite clear. The couple have a son who was born in 2017, and Halliwell has a daughter from a former relationship; Horner also has a daughter from his previous marriage.

Emma Bunton and Jade Jones

While most on-again, off-again relationships do more harm than you realize, that doesn't appear to be the case for Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton and Jade Jones. Bunton first started dating the British singer in 1998, only to break up for the first time in 1999. In fact, it wouldn't be until 2021, after several rounds of breaking up and getting back together over the years, before the two finally tied the knot. In January 2022, Bunton appeared on the "By the Light of the Moon" podcast and talked about how it was important to take those breaks, because the two were so young when they first met and they needed to grow up and experience life.

Although Bunton may be the more well-known of two, especially on an international scale, Jones was the lead singer of the R&B boy band Damage, as well as a member of the band CherryBlackStone. However, after years in the music business, Jones decided to take his career in a completely different direction by pursuing culinary arts. As a trainee chef, Jones appeared on Gordon Ramsay's "The F Word," and worked at Claridge's in London.

In 2008, Jones told the Daily Mail, "I want to open a restaurant with Emma. We're not sure when or where yet, but it's something we're seriously looking in to" (via Marie Claire). As of 2025, the couple have yet to open a restaurant. Bunton and Jones have two sons together.

Melanie Chisholm and Chris Dingwall

Unlike the rest of her fellow Spice Girls, Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm has chosen to opt out of the marriage. From 2002 to 2012, Chisholm was in a relationship with property developer Thomas Starr, and the two welcomed a daughter in 2009. "Being a mum was so liberating because for the first time in my adult life, it wasn't all about me," Chisholm told the BBC in 2020. "It made me not only realize I had a huge responsibility to her but I have a huge responsibility to myself... I had to treat myself better."

Chisholm, who has been vocal about her depression and disordered eating, also told the BBC that she's learn to accept herself, giving up the shame that has bogged her down. "I think it's time to say: 'I was there and I got myself through it and here I am to tell the tale.'"

After taking time to work on herself, Chisholm was apparently ready to throw her hat back into the relationship ring. In June 2024, she was spotted at the Glastonbury Festival with Chris Dingwall. Dingwall is an Australian model and actor who Chisholm may have met while on tour in Australia in 2024. He was on Chisholm's arm when she attended the world premiere of "Victoria Beckham" in London in October 2025, so it's probably safe to say that these two are still going strong.
