With ever-changing denim trends, it's hard to keep up with what's considered cool these days. We know that skinny jeans have been sent out to pasture for years, even though Lauren Boebert just won't give up this outdated denim trend. In fact, the silhouettes of jeans seem to be getting bigger by the year, with many folks opting for super wide legs or the new barrel style. However, those who love a slimmer fit will be happy to know that the sleek look is back. Jordan Stolch of MiKADO Personal Styling exclusively tells Women, "Compared to fall 2024, denim trends for fall 2025 show a shift toward more refined, tailored silhouettes with dark washes, subtle details, and elevated fits taking center stage."

If you're a baggy fit type of gal, don't fret, as wide legs are still on the fashion roster for fall 2025. But expect them to be a bit more refined, according to Stolch. And if you love all types of styles, you're in luck. "There's a greater variety and balance in silhouettes overall, with slim straights, wide-legs, lean boot-cuts, and barrel shapes coexisting, offering more options for different body types and styling preferences," the personal stylist shares with us. This fall, the denim world is your oyster, and these particular styles are ones you'll definitely want in your rotation.

Low-rise baggy jeans take you back to the '90s

Baggy jeans have been in for a few years, but this fall, look for a pair with a low rise. As Jordan Stolch describes, "These are often wide through the thigh and leg, and sometimes resemble dad jeans or '90s skate styles. The key update: they drop lower on the hips but maintain a relaxed, intentionally oversized fit." She continues, "This trend continues to emphasize the shift away from the ultra-skinny, high-rise era. The low-rise waist and volume through the leg create a balanced proportion when styled with structured tops and cropped jackets, giving a relaxed, but effortless look this season."

Straight cigarette legs are an updated option for skinny jean lovers

If you love a slim silhouette, go for cigarette jeans for fall 2025. Not quite skinny jeans, they offer a little more room in the legs and have a straight line from the hips to the ankles, with a slight taper. Although this look is trending at the moment, cigarette jeans are timeless and will have you reaching for them time and time again. "With their clean lines and mid-to-lower rises, they're great for tucking in knits or layering under jackets and blazers. Pair them with loafers, ballet flats, or pointed-toe booties for a refined fall look that feels sleek and easy to put together," Jordan Stolch advises.

Lean bootcut jeans elongate your legs

Bootcut jeans have never gone away, but this fall, you'll be looking at sleeker profiles, such as the Levi Strauss Signature Gold pair. "The lean boot cut is back in a big way, due to its styling versatility and how flattering it is on all body types. This season's versions emphasize longer inseams and streamlined fits for a lengthening effect," stylist Jordan Stolch exclusively tells us. She adds, "The gentle flare works especially well with fall outerwear — the boot cut opening helps balance chunkier shoes and boots, while the long inseam looks chic and streamlined with jackets and coats."

Split hems, front seams, and embroidery add flair to your jeans

One of the denim trends you'll be seeing everywhere in 2025 is fun details on jeans. According to Jordan Stolch, this includes legs with split hems, front seams, and eye-catching embellishments. You'll also notice designers adding thoughtful details like zippered hems and lace inserts. She tells Women, "These small design touches add visual interest and personality without overwhelming your look. They also tap into the current maximalist mood in fashion, but in a way that still feels wearable and refined. The focus is on subtle impact, so let the detail speak for itself by styling with neutral or more subtle supporting pieces."

Dark indigo and near-black washes are the shades for fall 2025

Put away your light blue jeans for the season — fall this year is all about dark denim. "Rich, deep-toned denim washes (including classic inky indigo, oil-slicked black, and shadowy navies) are defining the color palette of fall denim. Expect clean finishes with minimal fading or distressing," Jordan Stolch predicts. Dark washes, like this classic Lee pair, are particularly great for fall, as they go well with the season's palette — think earth and jewel tones. As Stolch points out, "They feature a dressed-up elegance, which easily carries from business casual settings, to date nights, evenings out, and beyond."

Tailored wide-leg jeans give boss energy

Fall 2025 denim fads lean heavily on elevated looks, so ditch anything with rips, which was the once-popular denim trend that's totally outdated in 2025. Instead, look for a pair that's wide-legged or resembles trousers, with pleats in the front as an added touch. "This silhouette is full and dramatic, but with a refined, architectural edge," stylist Jordan Stolch shares with Women. She continues, "Unlike overly baggy styles, these bring a sense of modern elegance to denim by elongating the body and creating a visually striking look. Pair with cropped knits, tucked-in button-downs, crisp blazers, and booties, for an easy transitional ensemble in colder months, which looks chic no matter where you're headed."
