The Dramatic Gameday Makeup Look Brittany Mahomes Should Have Left In 2016

It's no secret that Brittany Mahomes loves a full face, as she's frequently seen piling on makeup. From false lashes to heavy contouring, the wife of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes is rarely bare-faced, but that doesn't mean she always gets it right. You would think that she'd be a pro makeup artist by now, but Brittany has made some makeup mistakes that totally ruined her look. Take her 2019 game day look, for example. The overload of brown eyeshadow that desperately needed blending looked like an outdated trend from 2016, while the WAG's half ponytail looked like a throwback from the '80s. Brittany's thick eyeliner and blocked brows weren't doing her any favors, either, and a simple swipe with a Q-tip would have softened her peepers significantly.

Streaky makeup seems to be Brittany's MO, as she again showed up to her hubby's Kansas City Chiefs championship game in January with a Republican makeup fail that had us cringing. We know that she's a lover of bronzer, but placed unnaturally high on her cheekbones was a bright peach blush that again could have used some blending. "Here we go again ... so beyond proud of you," Brittany wrote in her Instagram post, which showed her hugging Patrick after his team's win. At least she ditched the heavy eyeliner this time, but the same couldn't be said for another event that had everyone wondering what the mom of three was thinking.

When it comes to liquid eyeliner, less is more, but Brittany Mahomes clearly didn't get the memo for her 2023 ESPY Awards look. Instead, she stepped out with intense graphic wings that overtook her face. It seems Mahomes wanted to master monochromatic dressing, but she could have taken notes from her pal Taylor Swift and gone with a more subtle cat-eye. Adding to her cringey look were lips overdrawn with a dark brown liner and a curly updo piled high on her head. "What in the early 2000s [is] this disaster," a fan commented on Mahomes's IG post. Another wrote, "Your makeup artist should be fired! You are way too pretty for all that eye makeup. I can't believe your friends or besties don't tell you that!"

Fans are so used to seeing Mahomes with loads of makeup that she looked unrecognizable with a bare face in an Instagram workout post shared in May 2024. Without an ounce of product and her hair in a high ponytail, the former soccer player appeared years younger. While we likely won't see her at a game or out with friends makeup-free, Mahomes definitely needs to find a healthy medium between au naturel and dramatically overdone.
