We Can't Ignore These Red Flags In Ainsley Earhardt & Sean Hannity's Relationship

Ainsley Earhardt and Sean Hannity shocked the nation when their romance hit the headlines in early summer 2020. Vanity Fair broke the news, claiming the surprising couple had debuted their romance the previous August at the wedding of their fellow Fox News co-workers Pete Hegseth and Jennifer Rauchet. An ex-executive on the network shared, "Hannity emerged from the chopper with Ainsley Earhardt, and they made this grand entrance together. People were like, 'Wow, okay.'" And the red flags bubbled up immediately.

One of the biggest? Their 15-year age gap. Though there are multiple celebs who rightfully forced us to confront our fixation with age-gap relationships, it's impossible to deny that Hannity being so much older than his betrothed could cause major problems. "When there is a significant difference in age, like 10 to 15 years or more, life experiences can be vastly different," licensed professional counselor Brandy Porche pointed out to PsychCentral while discussing general age gap romances. According to scientific studies, the ideal relationship age gap is three years — putting Earhardt and Hannity 12 years off the mark.

Janet Bayramyan, LCSW from Road to Wellness, also gave insight into potential issues that can arise. "While age differences can be healthy and functional, they may sometimes lead to power imbalances," Bayramyan exclusively told us while dissecting exes Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino's red flags. In Earhardt and Hannity's case, that notion could be further intensified seeing as Hannity was the more established name when Earhardt was carving out her career. She's even served as a correspondent for Hannity's Fox show. And we've spotted plenty more potential problems here.

She once totally denied their relationship

Another of the biggest red flags in Ainsley Earhardt and Sean Hannity's romance happened early on when she flat out denied she was dating her fellow Fox News star. When asked about the dating rumors by Vanity Fair in June 2020, Earhardt responded, "Right now I am focused on raising my daughter. As anyone at Fox News will tell you, Sean is a wonderful person and whomever he chooses to date will be extremely fortunate." She then added in a second statement, "I am not dating anyone."

Though we can understand why the couple wanted to keep their relationships private in the early stages, they'd reportedly been dating around 10 months and had already attended Pete Hegseth and Jennifer Rauchet's wedding together. A friend of Hannity even told the outlet of their relationship, "It wasn't even that hidden." Seeing as so many people in their inner circle already knew, that only makes it stranger that Earhardt flat out denied anything was going on. Anyone publicly presenting themselves as single 10 months into what was clearly a serious, monogamous relationship certainly raises questions.

She has been married twice before

No one should stay in a marriage that's no longer healthy and isn't serving them. However, when someone reaches their third walk down the aisle, it may be time to look inward to make sure they're always giving their best in their relationships. Ainsley Earhardt was first married to Kevin McKinney from 2005 until 2009 and then tied the knot with Will Proctor, with their marriage lasting from 2012 until 2019. Hannity popped the question in 2024, and will become her third husband.

Of course, two marriages in Earhardt's past doesn't automatically mean her and Hannity's marriage is doomed from the start. However, it can raise questions regarding relationship patterns and overall personal well-being. As psychologist and licensed marriage and family therapist Andrea Sartor explained to Metro, "Occasionally, when a person habitually enters into marriage multiple times, it could be that they may have an underlying mental health disorder, personality disorder, or attachment wounds that have left them feeling vulnerable."

For his part, Hannity has been married once before. He and Jill Rhodes tied the knot in 1993 and divorced around 2019. Though one previous marriage that lasted decades isn't as much of a red flag, it's not a bad idea for Hannity to also take stock of what went wrong in that relationship. Also, it's worth noting that second marriages have a higher divorce rate than first marriages, and third marriages have a higher divorce rate than second marriages.

They live over a thousand miles apart

Ainsley Earhardt lives in New York City, but Sean Hannity resides in Palm Beach, Florida — over 1,000 miles away. She told Daily Mail in July 2025 that the norm for her and her fiancé is to only see each other on weekends. "It's not conventional. We live on opposite ends of the East coast but when you love someone, you make it work," the TV personality explained. "I love my time with Sean in Palm Beach. We always do a family brunch after church on Sunday and then [my daughter] Hayden and I fly back. I love my New York life too."

Relationship expert Susan Winter told Nicki Swift the distance between Earhardt and Hannity is a major red flag and noted the two will have to put in some serious work to stay connected. "To succeed, couples must commit to 'disciplined togetherness' to ensure love's continued growth," she said. That may mean the two going out of their way to stay in touch and let the other know they care. "We're living in a digital age, and even though you may not be physically close, there are so many ways to stay in touch and create moments like virtual dates or letting your partner know you are thinking of them at that moment," therapist and life coach, Daniel Rinaldi, MHC, told VeryWellMind. The two will also have to find a common ground with their sex life, as it can be tough to make sex in a long-distance relationship work.

Both have incredibly busy schedules

In addition to their long-distance romance, Ainsley Earhardt and Sean Hannity are not looking to slow down their respective careers. As host of "Fox & Friends," Earhardt told Daily Mail she gets up at 3:30 a.m. each weekday morning, ready for the show's 6 a.m. start. That means the star likes to get an earlier night... if she can. "I try to go to bed around 9:00 p.m... but that never happens. My daughter likes to stay up as late as possible — she gets that from me. I'm a night owl and I love alone time when the house is finally quiet," she told My Morning Routine.

As for Hannity, he's equally busy. Though he may not have to start his day quite as early as his partner, his matching busy schedule was blamed by an unnamed friend as one of the main reasons for his divorce from Jill Rhodes. "Personally the reason for the divorce, Sean does three hours of radio each day in the city followed by TV in primetime, his workload created a lot of time away and it was tough on the marriage," they told Daily Mail in 2020. "[He] had a workaholic upbringing, and between his shows, books, speeches he just didn't slow down."

Earhardt and Hannity's clashing schedules could easily be a red flag. We already know the couple only tend to see each other at weekends, and it sounds like they probably won't get much quality time to catch up with a phone call during the week either. If the two are truly understanding of each other's workloads and don't mind not having an abundance of time together, things could work. However, having to constantly balance two jampacked schedules could get old fast.

They're yet to set a wedding date

Sean Hannity popped the question to Ainsley Earhardt in December 2024, but in July 2025 she told Daily Mail they were still yet to pick a wedding date. She confirmed they'd thought about their big day though, as they were looking to have a relatively small ceremony. "We're both such public figures and we've both done this before," she said of why they weren't looking to have a big, over-the-top wedding.

The red flag? It's odd they've waited so long to decide when their ceremony will take place. According to The Knot's 2025 Real Weddings Study, the average U.S. couple was engaged for 15 months before getting married in 2024, but these two were nearing the halfway mark of that time without a date (and are still yet to announce one at the time of writing). But we can't imagine they're taking their time because they need to build up funds. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hannity has amassed a massive $250 million, while Earhardt has a net worth of $8 million. Both also have plenty of connections to wrangle their dream wedding at short notice, including major ins with President Donald Trump, who we're inclined to think wouldn't mind giving them a room at Mar-a-Lago, a leading wedding venue, for the day. For the right price, of course.
