Kelly Clarkson Is Nearly Unrecognizable In Throwback Wedding Pics

When Kelly Clarkson married her late ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in 2013, she looked considerably different from the "Kelly Clarkson Show" host and "The Voice" coach we now know and love today. The beauty shared a gorgeous wedding photo on Instagram, which showed her flashing the biggest smile as Blackstock planted a kiss on her cheek. In another, the two shared a kiss in nature. The "Walk Away" hitmaker wore a traditional, white, lace gown with her light blonde locks pulled into a romantic up-do alongside an embellished headband.

Fast-forward 12 years, though, and Clarkson looks almost unrecognizable. The star's hair is several shades darker when she performed on "Today" in a sparkly, black jumpsuit. She had her locks in a stunning, ombre bronde shade with curtain bangs, which marked a mature look for the now mom of two. But it wasn't just her hair that transformed.

Clarkson has spoken about how her weight has fluctuated throughout the years, and she's a celeb who transformed after taking medication similar to Ozempic. On "The Kelly Clarkson Show" in 2024, she shared she once weighed 203 pounds at 5-foot-3-inches but found a healthier lifestyle after following her doctor's advice. "Everybody thinks it's Ozempic, it's not. It's something else, but it's something that aids in helping break down sugar. Obviously, my body doesn't do it right," she said. Clarkson has always been a confident beauty (we saw that on "American Idol" Season 1), but she's admitted that the family she started with Blackstock helped change the way she felt about herself. In 2015, she told Heat World she never cared too much about other people's opinions, but admitted, "More so now, since having a family — I don't seek out any other acceptance."

Kelly Clarkson's life has changed drastically since her wedding

Sadly, Kelly Clarkson's marriage to Brandon Blackstock didn't work out, and she filed for divorce in 2020. The talented multi-hyphenate opened up about their difficult breakup, telling People she used music to get her emotions out. "The level of depression and things that come with divorce or grieving is extraordinarily hard. You feel alone, and it's just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming," she said.

Before their split, Clarkson and Blackstock welcomed a son and a daughter, but she didn't let her relationship not working out dull her signature sparkle. "Sometimes you don't know what life has in store for you, and you think your life is going to go one way, and it's okay that it doesn't," she said. "You never know how beautiful that might be." Tragically, Blackstock passed away in the summer of 2025, which was life-changing for their children, who experienced another change when they moved from Los Angeles to New York with their mom in 2023.

Could we ever see Clarkson don a wedding dress again, though? Probably not. The "Piece By Piece" singer told People in 2024 that she wasn't a big fan of dating and quipped when asked if she'd marry for a second time, "No. I never wanted to get married the first time." But despite seemingly being set on never walking down the aisle again, she did give us a glimmer of hope, admitting, "For my kids, I definitely would never even think about it until they're out of my house."
