Jill Biden's Rare Makeup-Free Moments Are Striking
Dr. Jill Biden has always been the epitome of class and beauty. Having been both First Lady and Second Lady, while always maintaining her career as an educator — the first First Lady to do so in U.S. history — Biden has proven you can still have your own life even if your husband happens to be president. She's also shown that, unlike those in the Trump Administration who have opted for the Mar-A-Lago face trend, aging gracefully never goes out of style.
In April 2020, Biden shared a photo on Instagram in which she didn't have a stitch of makeup on, showcasing why going under the knife isn't always better. In the post, Biden posed with husband Joe while holding a carton of dyed eggs. "While our family may be physically distancing, our traditions keep us connected," Biden wrote in the caption. "Ready for Easter!"
In the photo, her light blonde hair was pulled up in what appears to have been a messy bun, and despite the picture being taken in the early weeks of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Biden looked happy and relaxed. Naturally, trolls were quick to point out Biden's makeup-free moment, but her supporters loved the photo. In the comments, Biden was called "very beautiful" and "amazing," both of which are true.
Jill Biden isn't afraid of a few wrinkles
Although Jill Biden has not publicly commented on whether or not she's had work done, because her skin looks so great, professionals in the plastic surgery field have their thoughts on the topic. "At 71 years old, Jill Biden's skin always looks refreshed, radiant, and contoured as she is on the go," plastic surgeon and medical director at CREO Clinic, Dr. Omar Tillo, told Express UK in February 2023. "She likely has a personalized, clinical, skincare routine, and has had many skin-tightening treatments." In other words, if Biden is doing anything, it's pretty minimal and is more about upkeep than some sort of overhaul.
Biden may have been in the public eye for the past 50 years because of her role as a political spouse, but she's not your typical celebrity. Whereas some people in the spotlight are owning up to their cosmetic tweaks, Biden has more important things on her mind. When asked by The Washington Post in January 2025 how she wants to be remembered, Biden said as a healer and educator. "I hope that women see me as a reflection of themselves," Biden told WaPo. "You know, a mom, a grandmom, a working woman, a sister, a friend." With that sort of response, it's clear that Biden's priorities lie elsewhere, and she doesn't fear a makeup-free photo on social media from time to time.
