Candace Cameron Bure's Short Haircut Proves She's Never Needed Those Hair Extensions

Ever since Candace Cameron Bure shot to fame as D.J. Tanner on "Full House" in 1987, her long, warm blonde hair has made her instantly recognizable. Though she's tried shorter tresses a handful of times since then, more often, she's worn extensions for added volume and length. In 2023, Hidden Crown Hair shared a TikTok video showing the actor getting several inches of the brand's extensions installed in the shade Melrose. Hidden Crown specializes in removable extensions, including halos and clip-ins.

Fast-forward two years, though, and Bure, who's totally transformed since her child star days, documented a dramatic haircut on social media. Not only was she not wearing long hair extensions, she'd chopped several inches off her natural tresses to create the most stunning shoulder-grazing bob. Her new 'do made it clear she never needed extensions all those years (not that there's anything wrong with them if they boost your confidence, of course). Her gorgeous, natural style had plenty of volume and movement without extra strands, and the ends looked healthy without any obvious dry or split ends. 

Bure joined the ranks of celebs who are basically unrecognizable without hair extensions as she looked so different with the blunt cut — and fans loved her new look. One Facebook user commented, "Love it!!!! Getting a noticeable chop once in awhile after having long hair is so freeing!!!!! I loved your bob too!!!!" Another joked that she still had options should she decide to return to extensions, noting, "We can always put those extensions in lol." Bure didn't seem to have plans to return to long locks (naturally or otherwise), though, as she told her followers via Instagram video shortly after getting the chop, "I'm so in love with this haircut and just having a short bob."

Countless celebrities have been open and honest about wearing wigs, and, surprisingly, Candace Cameron Bure is one of them. The star admitted to going one step further than hair extensions by hiding her mane in the 2018 TV Holiday movie "A Shoe Addict's Christmas." She responded to a user on X, formerly known as Twitter, who asked if she cut her hair for the Christmas caper, "the long hair was a wig ;) pretty great, huh?"

When she's not wearing a wig or extensions, though, Bure hasn't shied away from revealing how she keeps her natural locks in great shape.
