The Gorgeous Transformation Of Maude Apatow

If you think Maude Apatow just burst onto the scene with her portrayal as Lexi Howard in HBO's "Euphoria," you'd be wrong. Apatow has actually been in the business since she was 10, making her big screen debut in "Knocked Up" alongside her younger sister, Iris, who also played her sister in the movie. In the next few years that followed, Apatow had roles in "Funny People" and "This is 40," both of which, like "Knocked Up," were written and directed by her dad, Judd Apatow. That's right; Maude is yet another best-dressed Hollywood nepo baby who was very much just given her career.

"I try not to let it get to me because I obviously understand that I'm in such a lucky position," Apatow told Net-A-Porter in September 2022 about her nepo baby status, adding she's not the first to have such a privilege. "I don't have much to show yet, but hopefully one day I'll be really proud of the stuff I've done by myself," said Apatow. In fact, Apatow has already proven that she's not like other nepo babies, having not only been in series and movies, but in theater productions too. The latter of which isn't usually a route nepo kids take, so it speaks to Apatow's passion for acting.

Now 27, Apatow has given us 17 years to watch her come into her own. Having started off as a tiny little person who looked just like her mom, actress Leslie Mann, to fully evolving into a red carpet's dream arrival, Apatow has had one heck of a gorgeous transformation. And it's just the beginning.

2005: Baby's first red carpet

Although her performance would end up on the cutting room floor, 2005's "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" was officially Maude Apatow's first role, and like the three movies that followed, was written and directed by her father, Judd Apatow. For the LA premiere, Apatow attended with her dad and her mom, Leslie Mann, who was also in the film, wearing a sweet tiered white skirt, a matching top, and silver ballerina flats. She didn't know it yet, but this stop-and-pose moment on the red carpet was practice for her future Met Gala attendances.

2012: Keeping things simple for the premiere of This Is 40

For the 2012 world premiere of "This is 40," starring her mom, Leslie Mann, and Paul Rudd, Maude Apatow again wore a simple white ensemble with grey heels. Both she and her younger sister, Iris, were in the film playing the daughters of Mann and Rudd. This time around, both sisters got quite a bit of screentime, and whether it's because they were playing the kids of their real-life mom or an inherent talent, the two are fun to watch. Maude played a defiant, pain-in-the-butt teenager with a severe addiction to ABC's "Lost," which, for the time, was very much on par for the pop cultural landscape.

2015: Making sneakers and a dress look cool

Thanks to her father's role as executive producer of HBO's "Girls," Maude Apatow was able to score a very coveted spot on Lena Dunham's hit series in 2015. For three episodes, Apatow played Hannah's student-turned-bestie, Cleo, until Hannah drove her away with her demands, as was often the case. In March 2015, Apatow attended the 32nd Annual PaleyFest LA with her sister and father to celebrate "Girls." Apatow still hadn't quite found her fashion footing, but going by her pairing of a navy and white dress with a pair of classic Adidas kicks, a take on the timeless dress and sneakers combo, it's easy to see she was on her way.

2018: In her Chanel era

Although once it hit theatres nation- and world-wide, it would prove to be a financial disaster, "Assassination Nation" was one of the first of Maude Apatow's roles that didn't involve her father in some way. In September 2018, Apatow attended the premiere in Hollywood wearing a sailor-inspired grey and white plaid suit with burgundy trim by Chanel. She completed her look with a matching burgundy-colored Chanel bag, white sandals (that don't look very Chanel), and an eye-catching necklace. Despite it being a big night for Apatow, so much so that she was rocking Chanel, wearing her hair down gave her look an overall casual, chic energy.

2019: Starting to come into her own

By 2019, Maude Apatow had secured herself as one of the main characters on HBO's "Euphoria." From the onset, the series was met with both controversy and praise, and because the queen of taking method dressing to the next level, Zendaya, was so astounding as Rue, it sometimes felt like the rest of the characters fell between the cracks. Despite that, in Season 2, Apatow showed that, nepotism or not, she was indeed in the right industry. It was also about this time that she became more comfortable experimenting with her fashion choices, as evidenced at the 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards, where she wore this gorgeous beige tulle and lace dress, with black strappy sandals.

2020: Showing other celebs how it's done in Miu Miu

In January 2020, two important things happened to Maude Apatow. First, she wore this breathtaking, full-length sequined gown by Miu Miu to HBO's Official Golden Globes After Party and killed it, as they say. Secondly, Apatow joined the hard-to-get-into club of the celebs who have mastered the art of the red lip. What makes this look so striking is that Apatow let the dress do all the work. While a less fashion-forward person might have tried to muck things up with jewelry or gone overboard in their hairstyle, Apatow didn't do either. Instead, she limited her jewelry and kept her hair simple and pin-straight, making sure the dress was the center of attention.

2022: Slaying at her first Met Gala

Because nepotism really can only get you so far, especially when Anna Wintour is involved, Maude Apatow has only been to two Met Galas so far. For her first one, in 2022, she was asked to attend by Cartier in celebration of "In America: An Anthology of Fashion." Channeling old-Hollywood glamour, Apatow wore a black gown by Miu Miu, her hair styled in finger waves, and of course, she was dripping in diamonds by Cartier. As Apatow told Vogue in May 2022, she got started on her dress search months in advance, and although she was shown many designs, Miu Miu stood out. "And right when I saw it, I said yes to the dress," Apatow told the magazine.

2023: Becoming Sally Bowles

In 2023, Maude Apatow proved she wasn't afraid of a live audience when she took on the role of Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors" at the Westside Theatre and Sally Bowles in "Cabaret" at the Playhouse Theatre in London. When she attended an after-party that celebrated the new cast of "Cabaret" in June 2023, Apatow wore this adorable nude and pink dress that looks like it was pulled from the wardrobe closet at the theater. However, it wasn't; it was from the Simone Rocha Fall 2023 collection. Apatow completed the ensemble with gold heels and light brown arm warmers.

2024: Making adult onesies look good

If you're someone who keeps up with designers and attends their fashion shows, then you've probably noticed Maude Apatow at a lot of runway shows over the past few years. Sometimes she attends alone, while other times it's a family affair — minus dad Judd. In February 2024, Apatow was caught on the very cold sidewalks of New York City rocking this Gucci onesie, with matching Gucci platform loafers and a Gucci baguette, while on her way to the Gucci Ancora event at the Gucci SoHo Boutique. It may look like a lot of Gucci print for one person, but it was super-fitting for where she was going — and you know what they say about Rome.

2025: Upstaging royalty in Ralph Lauren

In a move that proved that Kate Middleton's most angelic white and cream outfits of all time can be easily duped by a non-royal and still look just as regal, Maude Apatow attended Wimbledon in June 2025 in this beautiful dress by Ralph Lauren. Because London doesn't tend to get the heat and humidity that New York or LA does in June, Apatow was able to wear this ankle-length, long-sleeved, high-collared dress with a tiered skirt and not have to worry about needing an air conditioner. Apatow wore her hair loose but pulled back, and brought the whole look together with matching white sandals.
