Carrie Underwood's Natural Hair Color Makeover Hints Bronde Is In For Fall 2025

She's famous for her bright blond spiral curls, but Carrie Underwood is stunning with her hair's natural texture. As such, it's no surprise that she also looks fabulous wearing her natural color, too. The "Before He Cheats" singer shared an Instagram post debuting the warm color, which lands somewhere between blond and brunette — a trendy color also known as "bronde." "Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance," wrote Carrie Underwood on an Instagram post that she hash-tagged #NewOldMe. Fellow country musician Miranda Lambert was supportive, commenting, "I love it."

Like Lana Del Rey's coveted 'Desert Sand Blonde,' Underwood's hair is one of the not-quite-blond and not-quite-brown colors that's trending this year, in part because it creates soft, beautiful dimension. "Carrie's latest hair color is a gorgeous bronde that perfectly blends warm, light brown tones with golden, sun-kissed blonde," says celebrity hairstylist Jennifer Korab in an exclusive interview with Women.com. "The roots and lowlights have a soft brunette depth, while the mid-lengths and ends are brightened with buttery blonde ribbons, creating a seamless, natural-looking transition."

It's the perfect color for the changing seasons, Korab adds. "It holds onto the luminous, beachy brightness we love from summer while introducing a touch of warmth and richness that pairs beautifully with autumn's deeper fashion shades and the softer, golden light of fall. It's a versatile color that feels fresh, natural, and seasonally on point."

Get Carrie Underwood's soft bronde color

Warm bronde tones like the color Carrie Underwood just debuted are shaping up to be the go-to color for fall. The good news is this is an easy color to recreate—and to maintain. "To get Carrie's bronde, ask your stylist for a lived-in bronde or root-shadowed balayage with a medium brunette base or natural root smudge, paired with golden and honey blonde highlights for dimension," explains Jennifer Korab. "The key is a soft, seamless blend between tones so there's no harsh line from roots to ends."

Your undertone is part of what to look for when you're trying to find your perfect hair color match. "This shade is especially flattering on those with neutral to warm undertones, as it enhances golden, peachy, or olive complexions," says Korab, who suggests this color will best suit those with dark blonde to medium brunette hair who only need a little adjustment to get this depth of color. "Dark brunettes can still wear it by opting for slightly cooler highlights like beige or caramel, while very light blondes can add lowlights and a root smudge to create the same depth Carrie's color has now," she adds.
