Unflattering Trends We Need Ainsley Earhardt To Ditch ASAP
As a longtime Fox News anchor, Ainsley Earhardt has a pretty standard aesthetic when it comes to dressing for television. The conservative commentator usually sticks to basic 'fits such as pantsuits and sheath dresses. It's safe to say that the "I'm So Glad You Were Born" author won't win any fashion awards anytime soon, and while she often punches up her look with bright colors, many of her sartorial choices are simply not flattering.
One outdated trend Earhardt just won't stop wearing are the tweed jackets Jackie Kennedy made popular in the '60s. Unfortunately, the boxy structure does not do anything for Earhardt's frame, especially while being filmed in hi-def — and it ages her, to boot. It's unclear if the mom of one uses a stylist or chooses her own on-air outfits, but we think it's time for her to update her capsule wardrobe ASAP.
Ainsley Earhardt's matchy-matchy look is outdated
We get that Ainsley Earhardt needs to dress in business attire while commentating on Fox News, but the matching pantsuit she wore in July 2024 looked like it came from 1998. Co-ords are back in style, and while we love a good athleisure set, Earhardt's bright fuchsia jacket and matching pants looked horribly dated. From the slim fit of the legs to the ill-fitting blazer that could have been a tad longer, this corporate look needed to be terminated.
Ainsley Earhardt's boucle jackets are repeat offenders
While boucle is considered timeless and classic, Ainsley Earhardt's choice of jackets often runs on the dowdy side. During an airing of "Fox & Friends," the right-wing pundit opted for a maroon shade with white piping along the middle and wrists. Usually, Ainsley looks at least a decade younger than her nearly 50 years, but frequently wearing the coarse material gives her a matronly feel. If she wants to stick with boucle jackets, a more youthful shade in a soft Tiffany blue or butter yellow, a major color trend for spring/summer 2025, would liven up her overall appearance.
Unnecessary draping is just a distraction
Ainsley Earhardt loves an odd-shaped neckline, which she clearly demonstrated with her blue dress featuring a large asymmetrical collar. The scarf-like adornment gave flight-attendant vibes, and the news anchor looked like she was about to point out the emergency exits rather than state her opinions on current events. What's more, the ruching gathered on one hip was just a messy distraction from what should have been a simple silhouette. Next time, Earhardt should keep the line of her midi dresses smooth and effortless.
Ainsley Earhardt needs to update her cropped flares
We never thought we'd see the day when cropped flares would come back in style, but they're now seen everywhere, including on Ainsley Earhardt. There are so many ways to wear this trend, and they can even be styled to look office-friendly. Sadly, Earhardt chose a light blue wash that looked more suitable for running errands on a weekend. Combined with her patent leather Chanel loafers, the finished look was a hot mess. We would have loved to see her in a darker indigo shade with a more refined cut.
Cap sleeves are so unflattering
Even if you have the most toned arms, cap sleeves are tricky to wear. They have to hit at just the right point to emphasize your shoulders without cutting them off at the widest point. Ainsley Earhardt's dress did just that while she hosted a "Fox & Friends" show, which did not flatter her slim arms at all. The boat neck didn't help the dress' silhouette either. A subtle V-neck would have done wonders in drawing the eyes away from the sleeves. Many celebs have proved how versatile the iconic LBD can be, but this is one dress Earhardt should not be reaching for again.
Ainsley Earhardt's oversized bow did not make a statement
Oversized bows are meant to make onlookers gasp in awe, like the astounding, oversized bow-shaped bodice on Cynthia Erivo's dark green 2025 Oscars gown. The Louis Vuitton creation was a stunner, and we're all for fancy adornments. However, Ainsley Earhardt failed to stun in a plain white dress with a large sash tied to her waist at the 2022 ADAPT Leadership Awards. Had the bow been in a contrasting color, it would have stood out more as a statement piece, but the white on white palette just blended into the background. This is one of Earhardt's outfits that totally fell flat.
Someone needs to tell Ainsley Earhardt that chunky soles are out
A good jeans and boots combo never goes out of style, but certain trends come and go, including chunky platform boots. These days, a slimmer heel is considered de rigueur, especially when paired with flared jeans. Ainsley Earhardt had the right idea when opting for a dark blue, boot cut pair, which do wonders for elongating the lower half of your body, but the shoes were all wrong. A strappy pump with a kitten heel or an oval-toed black bootie would have completed her fresh 'fit much more cohesively.
