Everything Christina Haack's Said About Her Fertility Journey
Christina Haack (aka Christina El Moussa, Christina Anstead, or Christina Hall) is a celebrity who has been refreshingly honest about the reality of her fertility journey. The star has gone public with her Polycystic Ovary Syndrome diagnosis, which, according to Mayo Clinic, can lead to irregular periods and even infertility. In 2015, Haack also told People she and her former husband Tarek El Moussa underwent IVF to conceive their son Brayden after attempting to get pregnant for around a year (the two were already parents to a daughter, Taylor).
After El Moussa was diagnosed with cancer, Haack shared, "We asked the doctor if that would affect our chances of having a child. They said that if you go through radiation, which Tarek had too, then you should not get pregnant from that sperm from six months to a year. So, right away, we did sperm banking and [tried] IVF." The now former couple underwent two rounds of IVF and tragically joined the ranks of celebs who have opened up about having miscarriages, as they experienced a loss on the second attempt. To give the IVF process the best chance of working, Haack explained, "I had to be really strict. I had to do one full week in bed. For 13 weeks after that, I couldn't go for a walk and couldn't lift anything over a gallon of milk."
Thankfully, it was all worth it, and the now exes welcomed their son via an emergency c-section. "After trying for over two years to get pregnant, we are ecstatic to finally be a family of four. Taylor loves being a big sister. Her favorite part is reading him stories at night," Haack told People.
Christina Haack didn't think she could get pregnant again when she found out she was expecting her third child
Christina Haack went on to welcome her third child, her first with her second husband Ant Anstead, in 2019, which came as a surprise. "I just didn't think I could get pregnant anymore," she told People, describing Hudson as a "miracle baby." The "Flip or Flop" star even credited acupuncture for helping her on her fertility journey, claiming it helped her deal with stress. "I explained to the woman that I had polycystic ovaries. She told me, 'Oh, I used to have that too. I think I can help.' She did some needle work, and six days later we conceived," Haack said. However, there's limited scientific evidence suggesting acupuncture can improve fertility, and it's always a good idea to speak to a medical professional before attempting alternative methods while attempting to conceive or while pregnant.
But does Haack plan to continue her fertility journey with a fourth child? Not so fast, as the "Christina On The Coast" star made it clear she wasn't planning to expand her brood any further. Speaking during her now defunct third marriage to Josh Hall (who gave Haack her priciest engagement ring), she told People in 2023, "We're done here. I can't even imagine that. I think my head would fall off. We're happy with the three. We're good."
