Ella Bleu Travolta Has Totally Transformed Over The Years

Ella Bleu Travolta is the apple of John Travolta's eye. "She is her own person. She is gracious, generous, poised, graceful, and gorgeous. I don't know how she came to be, and I don't take any credit other than just adoring her," John gushed to People in 2019. We're not surprised the actor is so besotted with his doppelgänger daughter because she's totally transformed into an independent, smart, and strong young woman.

It was 2002 when we first saw 2-year-old Ella Bleu on the red carpet. The adorable little girl joined her famous parents in front of the cameras as her dad announced a new partnership with Qantas Airlines. The youngster's glossy, brown locks and beautiful blue eyes captured the world's attention. She went on to spend plenty more time with her family at several other public events as the years rolled on, and each time she stepped out, her evolution into a gorgeous young woman only became more obvious.

With such famous and talented parents, it felt natural that Ella Bleu would discover a passion for the arts at a young age. "Since I was very little, I've loved performing, singing, dancing, and putting on shows at home for my family and friends," she told People. In a separate People interview, she again touched on how her upbringing influenced her career ambitions, noting, "I'm so fortunate to have been exposed to that from so young. And that definitely sparked my interest to want to do it."

Ella Bleu didn't waste much time getting in front of the camera, either. She landed her first movie role before she'd even hit double digits, appearing in the movie "Old Dogs" alongside John Travolta and the late Robin Williams. The youngster was also getting a taste of the glitz and glamour that come with being a star. She walked the red carpet for the movie with her proud parents, who were snapped planting kisses on both her cheeks. She made her first talk show appearance that year alongside John on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

But 2009 was far from easy for Ella Bleu and her family. The Travoltas experienced the tragic loss of Jett Travolta, Ella Bleu's brother, who was just 16. "Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief," John and Preston shared in a statement (via BBC News). "We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives," they added.

Though we didn't see a lot of Ella Bleu Travolta in the spotlight as a youngster, she popped up every now and again alongside her parents. That included her walking the red carpet for the "Solo: A Star Wars Story" premiere in 2018, where she proved what a stunning young woman she was becoming. The beauty wore a classy, black-and-white gown and black cardigan as she posed alongside her Kelly Preston, John Travolta, and her brother Benjamin Travolta, with her long, brunette hair straight and down.

The following year, Ella Bleu's interest in making acting her full-time profession was made even clearer. She added another role to her resume when she appeared in the 2019 movie "Eye for an Eye" (also known as "The Poison Rose") alongside her dad and Morgan Freeman. John even posted a photo on Instagram of his gorgeous daughter's first day on set. The talented up-and-comer did several interviews to promote the project and spoke to "Extra" about how supportive her dad was of her latest foray in front of the camera. "He is the best mentor that I could ever ask for, and having him there was just like a gift," she said.

In 2020, the Travolta family experienced another devastating loss when Kelly Preston passed away aged 57. The "Jerry Maguire" and "For Love of the Game" star had been diagnosed with breast cancer two years earlier, and her passing following her inspiring and powerful cancer journey was confirmed by a family representative. "She was a bright, beautiful, and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time," a statement issued to People read.

Ella Bleu shared a touching tribute to her mom on Instagram shortly after her passing. She shared a gorgeous photo of her mom and wrote, in part, "Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place. You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama." Ella Bleu also reflected on how she dealt with such a heartbreaking time while the world looked on, speaking to American Songwriter in 2024. "Growing up, you're going to go through loss and growing up in the public, which I have since very young, there's definitely going to be more attention on it from a lot of people," she said.

In 2023, Ella Bleu Travolta was ready to take her career to the next level. The star appeared in a national campaign for Silk and landed another big movie role. The talented star filmed "Get Lost," which is still awaiting release at the time of writing. "It's a live-action modern twist on 'Alice in Wonderland,'" Ella Bleu told Parade, sharing that she took on the role of Alice. "I've always just loved the arts in general — acting, singing, dancing, and I grew up around it. So it was just such a natural part of my life that continuing to do that just feels right, and I really enjoy it," the stunner — who deserved recognition as one of the best dressed nepo babies in Hollywood after pulling off a red and green coat on the streets of New York City — said.

But despite following in her famous parents' footsteps and her obvious love for her family, this up-and-coming star was determined to blaze her own trail. "I'm so proud of my parents and I'm so proud to be their daughter, but definitely creating my own name for myself and doing what I feel is right and the proper next career steps and really doing my own thing as well," she said. The budding star revealed she was looking for her next acting gig and had been auditioning for various roles.

Ella Bleu Travolta was ready to make herself a multi-hyphenate in 2024 and added another string to her creative bow via her debut EP, "Colors of Love." "It's definitely been a learning experience and a long time coming," she told Popsugar. Ella Bleu told People she started the project for fun amid the COVID-19 lockdown, and John Travolta encouraged her to make more out of her melodies. "The best advice that I've gotten obviously is from him, but he also really leaves it up to me, which I really appreciate," she said. The EP included a lot of heartfelt music, including a touching tribute to her late mom. "It had been a couple of years since my mom's passing, so I could take a step back and see what I wanted to communicate. And I just wanted it to be as real and personal as possible," Ella Bleu told People. We started seeing a lot more of her out and about too, including with John Travolta at the TCM Classic Film Festival, where she looked sophisticated with a bob, one of 2024's hottest hairstyles.

Whatever's next for this star, we know it'll be big. When asked about her next step by Parade, Ella Bleu shared, "[S]taying as busy as possible with music and acting and everything that comes with that. And trying to sort of inspire and help as many people as possible with that." No matter where life takes her, though, she'll always treasure her close bond with her beloved dad. "He's my best friend and my biggest fan, and I'm definitely his. Having that support is just very important, and I'm so lucky to have that from him," she told PopSugar. Adorable!
