Paulina Gretzky Outfits That Completely Missed The Mark

We usually love Paulina Gretzky's flirty style. The actor, singer, daughter of Wayne Gretzky, and wife of professional golfer Dustin Johnson has made quite the name for herself thanks to her bold fashion choices. And she certainly hasn't feared pushing the boundaries on social media, the red carpet, and on the golf course while supporting her husband. In fact, Gretzky has proven that with a heavy dose of confidence, she can pull almost anything off — and confidence is something this star has in spades. "I like who I am — I love who I am — and I'm ready to venture out now," she told Kind in 2023.

But taking a fashion risk means there's always a chance a daring look won't pay off. Just ask Gretzky's fellow golf WAG Vanessa Trump, who's had her fair share of outfits that didn't work. And Gretzky, unfortunately, has fallen victim to few ensembles that completely missed the mark, too.

Her western-inspired ensemble looked seriously restricting

Paulina Gretzky's western-inspired outfit gave us total Beyoncé Cowboy Carter Tour vibes, but it was the execution that stopped us being "Crazy In Love." In photos and videos Gretzky shared to Instagram in 2024, her black, corset top appeared to be at least one size too small, which, although it highlighted her gorgeous figure, looked seriously uncomfortable. Her black, leather-look shorts seemed equally constricting and we can't imagine the star had the easiest time sitting down or getting comfortable during the Tennessee party, which made this one a miss.

Her odd, long socks ruined what could have been a stylish red carpet ensemble

In 2009, a then-blond Paulina Gretzky walked the UNICEF Ball red carpet alongside her famous dad in a questionable ensemble. She wore a strapless, white bubble dress with cream, slingback, heels, and a glamorous, statement necklace, which was a huge trend of the time. If she'd stopped there, this outfit could hit the mark. However, she inexplicably added knee-high, semi-sheer black socks, which didn't work with her formal ensemble — especially her open-toe heels.

She dressed for a night out on the golf course

We were left scratching our heads when Paulina Gretzky attended the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in 2013, because she was better dressed for a night out than a day on the course. She wore a low-cut, body-hugging, grey, ribbed, minidress with black sandals and oversized sunglasses but, as good as Gretzky looked, she stood out as everyone else in her group was dressed far more casually. Equally, the competition was held in Hawaii, where breezy, light fabrics will keep you cool in the heat. Not skin-tight garments that encourage sweating.

Paulina Gretzky's small top and impractical skirt didn't work on the golf course

Paulina Gretzky made another golf course fashion faux pas in 2022 with a look that was no hole in one. Her strappy, navy crop-top was ill-fitting and stifled her chest, and her high-waisted miniskirt was equally impractical for a golf-watching day, which may have involved sitting down or picking up golf balls. Though we can't fault the star for being confident and showing it, the outfit also felt too attention grabbing for an event where the focus was supposed to be on her husband.

Her same length dress and blazer combo wasn't her most flattering outfit

When Paulina Gretzky hit the red carpet with Dustin Johnson for the Hublot Loves Art Miami event in 2021, her ensemble felt mismatched. She wore a boxy, brown blazer over a short, low-cut, champagne dress. But the exaggerated shoulder pads didn't flatter her shape and the garments being the same length didn't flatter her proportions. Equally, though the influencer was ahead of her time in bow heels — one of the hottest shoe trends of 2024 – the intense, silver sparkle felt too much with her muted clothing.

She wore a sexy LBD that looked out of place at a family meal

In 2022, Paulina Gretzky shared an Instagram photo that showed her posing with her sister and dad at a family meal. But her deep plunge, little black dress with sheer sleeves and a tie across her chest didn't scream wholesome family time. Of course, there's nothing wrong with the star turning up the dial on her sex appeal and wearing what makes her feel comfortable, but the risqué number missed the mark for a family gathering and would have been more suitable for a club.

Paulina Gretzky wore a shade too similar to the bride on a bachelorette trip

During a friend's bachelorette trip, we struggled to tell Paulina Gretzky apart from the bride. In a 2024 Instagram Stories highlight, she included the dress code, which specifically asked the attendees to wear brown as the bride would be wearing cream or off-white. But Gretzky dressed in a very light, almost beige crop top and skirt combo, which looked too similar to the bride's outfit color in photos. Though we're sure the match was unintentional, her ensemble gave the impression she was trying to steal focus.
