Kim Kardashian Is Nearly Unrecognizable Without Hair Extensions

Lucky for us, Kim Kardashian has been open and honest about using hair extensions (as well as wigs) to regularly change up her look. One thing "The Kardashians" star hasn't been quite so forthcoming with though? What she looks like without them. However, she has revealed her natural hair on a couple of occasions and, we have to say, North West's mom looks almost unrecognizable without her signature, super long strands.

Kardashian gave us a peek at her extension-less and un-styled locks in a 2013 TikTok video as she North mouthed along to "Baby, It's Cold Outside." Though she swiftly deleted the clip, as the Kardashians know all too well, what happens on the internet stays on the internet, and screenshots of her without her extensions popped up everywhere. The reality star's locks were dyed blond and just skimmed her shoulders. Her hair were far less voluminous than we've come to expect though, and appeared much thinner and wispier at the ends (but, hey, that's totally relatable).

But that wasn't the only time she ditched wigs and extensions. In February 2025, Kardashian showed her natural length again after her hair stylist Chris Appleton cut several inches off her locks. "Love this new chop on kim, we got 7 inches off her hair! (No it's not a wig before u start lol)," he wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of the star's cut-off dark hair arranged into a heart shape on the floor. She became one of celebs who rocked the chic flippy bob when she showed off her new length at the Fourth Annual Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala that month, but slicked it back for an Instagram selfie posted a few days later.

After seeing the natural length of Kim Kardashian's tresses, it's clear she wears hair extensions regularly to ger her trademark long, thick look. So, we trust her opinion when it comes to choosing between the many brands out there — and it turns out she's tried a few. For the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars party, Kardashian wore Great Lengths hair extension tapes. The brand is also a favorite of Demi Lovato, who also looks so different without hair extensions.

Before that though, Kardashian's mane (get it?) brand was Priscilla Valles' Keratin Bond extensions, a collab with Glam Seamless. "Oh my god you guys, I just got Priscilla's new hair extensions. I've been using Priscilla for the last, like, six months? And I'm obsessed," the reality star cooed in a 2021 Instagram Stories video while showing her followers the shade variations (via Cosmopolitan U.K.) "I don't know how I'll ever go back. But she has the most amazing hair, and look at all of these colours! I love it," the wet hair look master said. But that's not all she's tried, as Kardashian has also used other Glam Seamless extensions styles. She was once spotted in the brand's Traditional Hair Weft piece, which wraps around a ponytail to create a fuller looking 'do.
