Picture this, the fabulous Martha Stewart smiling and without a care in the world, having a blast as she herds a group of geese. Amazing, right? But not the TV star we know today. Stewart took to Instagram to share a throwback pic, and she's nearly unrecognizable, just like Jill Biden in her throwback snap of her early days with Joe.
The photo, taken in 1976 on the grounds of her legendary Westport estate, shows her sporting a free-spirited farm-girl vibe, styling a cute halter-style denim romper with a striped black and white t-shirt underneath. Instead of her usual glam accessories, she wore Dr. Scholl's sandals and held a long-handled catching net, looking more down-to-earth than ever. People were obviously obsessed for all the right reasons, as one fan commented, "Love vintage Martha lifestyle photos & stories. She's truly a "Renaissance Woman!" Her fan couldn't have described her any better as "Renaissance Woman," which really does seem like the perfect word to describe Stewart.

Perhaps the most surprising detail of the photo is that she's not blonde. Most of America knows her as a blonde homemaking bombshell, but believe it or not, it seems the iconic lifestyle mogul isn't a natural blonde. In all of her pictures from her earlier years, whether she's rocking it short or long, Stewart has rich, brunette hair. But honestly? Gray, sunny blonde, or dark brunette, it doesn't change the fact that she's absolutely gorgeous, then and now.

The official Martha Stewart Instagram account shared a throwback photo snapped around 1970 of the icon smiling at sea. As always, Stewart looked fabulous as she rocked a relaxed-fit cream knit with loose-fit jeans, wearing her long brunette hair down, styled effortlessly by the wind. Many fans agreed that it reminded them of an all-American brand ad, like J. Crew or Ralph Lauren. And, they're right. The photo looks like it belongs on a magazine cover.
Stewart's love for boating started in her days as a newlywed and continues to be a way for her to find pure bliss. She shared on her Instagram, "Whether I'm navigating a small Laser, a 40-foot sloop, or a 200-foot yacht, the joy of the open sea, the brisk breezes, and the beauty of it all lure me back again and again." And her love for boating is stronger than ever. Whether she's on a mega yacht or a Sea-Doo (a personal watercraft), whenever summer hits, you can find Martha on the water, soaking up the sun, living her best life.
