Karoline Leavitt Looked So Different Before She Joined Trump

Long before she became president Donald Trump's right-hand woman, press secretary Karoline Leavitt was a high school student from New Hampshire, doing ordinary high school things, like hanging out with friends and playing softball. Looking back at her journey, it's clear she's changed a lot over the past decade. We barely recognized the controversial star, who was named White House press secretary in 2024, when she was just 27-years-old, in a snap her mom, Erin Leavitt, posted to Facebook in 2014. In the snap, the two can be seen posing while the younger Leavitt stuns in a gorgeous, strapless, red gown.

Though Leavitt still had her signature blond hair, the shade she opted for back then was slightly darker and more golden than the cooler, platinum-leaning tone she sports as Trump's White House press secretary. It was also several shades darker than Erin's blond locks. Back then, Leavitt wore her mane with a deep side part, though ever since she joined the Trump train, she notably favors a slightly off-center one. That certainly wasn't all we noticed about her changing appearance, though.

Of course, she's aged since 2014 (After all, she was a teenager when the snap was taken) but her lips appeared much thinner than when she makes her outspoken appearances inside the U.S. Capitol. Leavitt looked youthful and beautiful in the sweet family photo, but her top lip was barely visible as she flashed a smile. She also appeared to do her makeup differently. Though Karoline Leavitt, who's fallen victim to a common beauty blunder, prefers a slightly softer eye when she's working at the White House, when she was a teenager, she opted for heavy eyeliner with a lot of highlighter in the inner corner.

Karoline Leavitt's lips didn't appear so plump in 2015

Karoline Leavitt also looked drastically different in a snap she shared to Instagram in 2015. In that smiley photo, it was also noticeable that her lips weren't as plumped up as they would be a decade later. The political figure didn't appear to wear as much makeup as she does as part of Team Trump (though we know what Karoline looks like without makeup and she's totally gorgeous) and, instead of her White House full glam, Karoline layered on her mascara but wore minimal lipstick and lip liner. She also rocked a flattering tan and proudly showed off a few freckles on her blemish-free complexion, which was noticeably smoother in a snap from April 2024.

Though Leavitt hasn't confirmed she's had any plastic surgery or beauty treatments like filler or Botox, that hasn't stopped social media users from speculating she may have purposefully changed her look. "Her lip filler is hard to look at," one X, formerly known as Twitter, user wrote after seeing Karoline at a June 2025 press briefing. "I notice Karoline Leavitt is already transitioning to plastic-surgery / filler face. It seems to be a requirement for every female in Trump's orbit," another speculated, seemingly referencing the Mar-A-Lago Face plastic surgery trend that's seen many of Trump's most loyal, female supporters adopt an overtly glam look.

If Karoline has purposefully altered her appearance though, not only is that perfectly okay (as long as she feels happy and confident), it seems she's not alone. There are plenty of celebs who have owned up to their cosmetic tweaks, including fellow Trump's secretary of homeland security, Kristi Noem, whose face transformation is a sight to see.
