What Is Ivanka Trump's Natural Hair Color?

Ivanka Trump has made a name for herself as a classy and sophisticated blond bombshell. But while the first daughter's light, warm blond locks have become a striking part of her look, it's not her natural hair color. We got a glimpse at her real shade in a throwback photo taken in 1993. Although her healthy-looking locks were still blond, her mane was several shades darker than the trademark color she'd sport as an adult. Her natural hue actually bordered on light brown, but with dirty blond ends. The future political figure wore her glossy hair straight and down.
Ivanka Trump didn't spend her whole childhood with dark blond tresses though. "One day after school, I dyed my hair blue. Mom wasn't a fan of this decision. She took one look at me and immediately went out to the nearest drugstore to buy a $10 box of Nice'n Easy," Ivanka recalled in her mother Ivana Trump's book, "Raising Trump" (via BBC News). "That night, she forced me to dye my hair back to blond. The color she picked out was actually three shades lighter than my natural color ... and I have never looked back!" Ivanka recalled.
How Ivanka Trump achieves her signature blond shade
Now that we know Ivanka Trump's golden blond hair color isn't natural, we want to know how we can replicate it. Her flattering blond shade is total inspo for our next salon trip. Luckily for us, Trump's colorist Kyle White, lead colorist at Oscar Blandi, is open about his process.
"Ivanka's blond is created by weaving foil highlights on her natural base color. The highlights are woven with a medium-size thickness and lifted to a pale baby blond," he told New Beauty, revealing he's very careful about where he places the highlights to ensure they're flattering. "[We leave] enough darkness at her roots to ensure she won't look washed out; they then progress into solid blond ends, which gives that illuminating glamorous effect only very blond hair can do," he said. That's similar to the method used by popstar Sabrina Carpenter, a natural blond who uses highlights to lighten her locks, too.
Though White is Ivanka's go-to colorist, Daily Mail reported she also visits stylist Rita Zito at the same New York salon for professional cuts. But such gorgeous locks don't come cheap. According to the outlet, Ivanka may spend as much as $1,000 every time she gets a cut and color at the Oscar Blandi Salon. Considering Ivanka's worn several outfits that cost more than the average rent, though, that's just chump change for the millionaire... or should we say Trump change?
