Christina Haack Is Nearly Unrecognizable Ditching Her Signature Hair Extensions

Christina Haack is no gatekeeper over how she achieves her gorgeous, full head of hair. The HGTV star has been very open about her love of hair extensions, admitting on Instagram in 2021, "I definitely have an obsession with long thick hair!" But although it's rare we see this home makeover maven without a few extra strands, we know what she looks like without them, and we can confirm she's a celebrity who's basically unrecognizable without hair extensions.

In 2023, Haack shared a joint Instagram video with Lush Locks by Latitude that showed her before and after having the accessories installed. In the before shot, the "Christina on the Coast" star's blond mane with darker roots just skimmed her shoulders and was much thinner at the ends than we're used to. The beauty had drier, shorter strands at the front that framed her face, with longer locks at the back. Just like Carrie Underwood, she looked so different without her signature extensions and had a more natural, low-maintenance vibe than when she gets glam for the red carpet.

When Christina Haack's not solely rocking her natural hair, she opts for XL extensions and has tried almost every version going. In a 2021 Instagram post, she confirmed she got the accessories added at Latitude 33 Hair Artistry salon but had tried a more modern installation method. "After years of wearing tape ins I tired [sic] the newest method of hair extensions, Invisible bead hand tied extensions .... and I am IN LOVE!" she told her followers. In another Instagram post the following year, Haack shared she'd been using Bellami extensions. "I love the blend of the highlights and lowlights," the TV star captioned the before-and-after video, as she thankfully avoided a hair extension fail that made us cringe.

In 2024, though, she was still visiting the same salon (where her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa's sister works) but had tried a new brand — Lush Locks By Latitude. "After years of wearing almost every brand of hair extension available, my salon @l33hairartistry created the best extensions I've ever worn," she captioned an Instagram video of herself showing off her long locks. "I am on my second set of this luxurious hair and have never been so pleased with quality," she wrote. We're not expecting Haack's love of voluminous, Rapunzel-like locks to be cut short anytime soon.
