The Outdated Denim Trend Lauren Boebert Just Won't Give Up

Lauren Boebert is anomaly. Not only is her public behavior enough to make someone scratch their head until it bleeds, but so are her attempts at style. Try as she might to look at least remotely fashionable, Boebert fails time and time again. Simply put, the woman just can't pull a look together to save her life.

While one would think that the U.S. House representative for Colorado's 4th Congressional District, who is relatively young, would have some insight into fashion, Boebert has proven at every turn that's not the case. From the ill-fitting blazer keeping her on the worst-dressed list to her unflattering attempts at a wavy hairstyle, Boebert continues to remind us that if you're looking for stylish politicians to inspire you, it's best to not look in the direction of Republicans.

In the very long list of Boebert outfits that were complete misses is a particular clothing item she just can't shake: skinny jeans. While the rest of the world has finally traded these in for baggier, more comfy denim, Boebert just can't seem to quit the skinnies. Is it because she doesn't care or doesn't know that these are now a very outdated trend? One can only guess what's going on behind her cakey foundation. But for what it's worth, there are better and comfier options out there that Boebert may want to look into, should she have any interest in leveling up her wardrobe.

What Lauren Boebert should wear instead

Although Lauren Boebert is certainly not alone in her undying loving of skinny jeans, it's important to know when to let go of something. Especially when it's not working for anyone. "The skinny jean era was such a blight on society that the pendulum swung violently in the opposite direction," co-host of the "Throwing Fits" podcast James Harris tells Vogue Business. "I think we've all collectively realized that maybe [skinny jeans aren't] the best, most flattering silhouette."

That being said, if Boebert wants to get with the program, the hottest denim trends for spring 2025 are something to consider — and skinny jeans are not on the list. Instead, low and slouchy, capri, and embellished and artistic are the denim looks Boebert (as well as anyone else who wants to be en vogue) should be wearing. These particular styles aren't just easier on the body than skinny jeans, but they look great no matter your shape, height, or fashion aesthetic.

But will Boebert do the right thing and ditch her skinny jeans for 2025? Probably not. After all, we're talking about someone who bragged about how good she thought she looked in her mugshot, saying at a 2020 event, "I even got a pretty mugshot out of it," according to the Colorado Times Reporter. Yes, Lauren, that should be the key takeaway of your arrest after skipping out on a court hearing — not the fact that you broke the law or anything like that.
