Outdated Trends Lauren Sanchez Was Caught Wearing

Lauren Sanchez has become a staple on the red carpet and the internet, as the camera seems to love her. Depending on who you talk to, this can be a gift or curse. The former journalist and author made headlines for going into space in April 2024 thanks to her insanely rich fiance Jeff Bezos. Though she has many amazing credits to her name, these accomplishments have not prevented her from her fashion fails.

Still, it's clear that Sanchez loves to dress to the nines on any given day, and she doesn't mind showing skin. There is definitely nothing wrong with that by any means, and Sanchez has indeed has pulled off some stunning outfits at various events. At the same time, the Gen X journalist has worn a few trends that are, to the say the least, quite outdated.

The infamous peek-a-boo bra

Lauren Sanchez has an impressive resume to say the least, so it is very surprising that she would put together such an outdated look. She had the misfortune of wearing the peek-a-boo bra not once, but twice. First, during the Forbes Power Women's Summit in 2024, she sported a white pantsuit with a lacy bra. She then wore an identical outfit in 2025 during Donald Trump's inauguration in January.

This may have worked for Cady Heron on "Mean Girls," but not only was Heron in high school, but it was also in 2004. Sanchez's peek-a-boo bra however, was totally out of place at a presidential inauguration.

The ruffled blouse

During an appearance on "Good Day New York" in 2024, Lauren Sánchez wandered into the realm of retro with an outfit that looked like it time-traveled from a 2008 boardroom and missed its return flight. The ruffled blouse whispered power dressing, but in a way that reminds us of corporate catalogs from a decade past. It was giving HR manager at a tech company launch party, complete with a powder-blue hue that screamed, "I came here to negotiate contracts and sip Pinot Grigio."

Then there was the ultra-mini tweed skirt, a fabric usually known for Chanel elegance, suddenly moonlighting as clubwear. And those pointy blue pumps? They matched a little too hard. It's as if each piece got the "light blue memo" but never consulted each other on theme or vibe. The result was an ensemble that was coordinated to a fault; more matchy than modern, making it one of Sanchez's outfits that totally missed the mark.

The statement waistbelt

The outfit Lauren Sánchez wore to "Good Morning America" in 2024 tried to be edgy, but seemingly got stuck in the fashion archives circa 2010. The satin blouse screamed "I'm mysterious and expensive," but its stiff structure and high-shine finish felt more mall chic than modern sleek. The thick, studded belt cinched the waist like it was auditioning for a reboot of "The Matrix."

Meanwhile, the asymmetrical tweed skirt fluttered like it was about to make a TED Talk, but veered off to Broadway. And the glossy black stilettos give 2009 nightclub business-casual. We can almost hear "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO blaring in the background. Overall, it was an outfit that tried to make too many statements without enough clarity.

Tulle insanity

Lauren Sanchez was a vision in red tulle at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Sanchez looked like she waltzed straight out of a Valentine's Day-themed soap opera, but this gown was less modern fairy tale"and more retired prom queen. The oversized, cloud-like sleeves puffed out like they had been inflated with pure nostalgia, reminding us of a 1980s wedding catalog.

Then there was the shimmering, tiered train billowing like a flamingo in a wind tunnel. It tried to say couture, but the synthetic sparkle was more reminiscent of a plastic tiara in a costume shop. And those nude pumps? Functional, but next to all that fire and fluff, they look like they wandered in from a much calmer event. Overall, this look was a maximalist memory: loud, lavish, and clinging to a red carpet era when more was always more. But fashion has moved on to a quieter, cooler kind of drama.
