Why Isn't 'Grey's Anatomy' Airing On April 25? New Episodes Will Be Back Before You Know It

Why am I NOT getting my weekly dose of Grey's Anatomy?
Why Isn't 'Grey's Anatomy' on This Week? New Episodes Will Resume Soon
A week without Grey's Anatomy is not one I want to endure. Yet here we are. On April 18, ABC aired "Head Over High Heels," and all seemed right with the world. Per usual, following the new episode, the network aired a promotional trailer for the upcoming episode. However, one thing caught our attention. The promotional trailer for Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 23, the narrator stated, "In 2 weeks." And, ahem, excuse me, but what? Yes, it looks like new episodes of the Shondaland medical drama won't be airing during the week of April 25. But why isn't Grey's Anatomy on this week (and if you're reading this on the night of TGIT—tonight)? And when will new episodes return? Don't worry about a thing because we have the answers to all of your Grey's questions, including when the air date for the next episode will be. And you won't have to wait much longer.
Why Isn't 'Grey's Anatomy' Airing on April 25?
Everyone knows that Thursdays on ABC are reserved for TGIT. So what could possibly disturb us from getting our weekly Grey's Anatomy fix, especially with the highly anticipated Station 19 crossover coming up next?
Well, according to the schedule on ABC's website, Grey's Anatomy won't be on the night of April 25 because of the 2019 NFL draft, which will be airing at 5 p.m. ET and is scheduled to go until 11:35 p.m. with Jimmy Kimmel Live. Of course, this means that the entire Shondaland lineup, including Station 19 and For the People, won't be airing on the week of April 25.
When Will 'Grey's Anatomy' Return?
Luckily, the 2019 NFL Draft is a one-night event and won't be in the way of TGIT until next year. So Grey's Anatomy will come back with new episodes on May 2 at 8 p.m. ET, per usual.
That being said, it looks like the Grey's return will be worth the wait. The new episode will feature the crossover event with Station 19, which means the May 2 episode, titled "What I Did for Love" will span a total of two hours. So get ready for plenty of drama to come tumbling down, from danger looming for one member of the Station 19 crew to more development for Jo's downward spiral.
