We may not even be halfway through the year yet, but Taylor Swift has already shown us multiple times that she's on the pulse of Millennial fashion. Since January, "The Tortured Poets Department" singer (who never goes out of style, as we know) has been spotted in public wearing very modern, and seemingly TikTok inspired looks (hello eclectic grandpa), despite her admitting in the past that she's not too bothered about dressing to fit trends. "I think that as much as you should be creative and experiment, there are certain things I know are fads, and so I try to steer clear of most of the obvious ones," she told ASOS magazine back in 2014 (via Glamour).
Clearly, then, Swift is so stylish right now that she's rocking up-to-the-minute trends without even trying. And, sometimes, she can even be the one who ends up starting the trend, because it just looked so darn good on her. Taylor Swift signalled the start of the statement belt trend in New York City
When Taylor Swift stepped out for dinner with Cara Delevingne and Brittany Mahomes in January, she said "Welcome to New York" ... and welcome to the statement belt trend. The star was photographed and videoed by paparazzi heading inside (and then leaving) a Big Apple restaurant wearing an all-black ensemble, complete with a statement-making chain waist belt. Seeing as nothing Swift does is accidental (hello, Easter Eggs!), we're going to guess not only did she have some inside knowledge that attention-grabbing accessory would be hot in spring 2024, but that she may be part of the reason why it's making a comeback.

She was ahead of the (literally) red-hot summer trend, too!
Sure, it might be a pure coincidence that red happens to be one of the biggest color trends of 2024 and the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs' team color. However, Swift has shown us repeatedly how to rock the bold shade in ways that work well in and outside the football stadiums.
It's very possible that Swift's dedication to Travis Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, has contributed to its popularity of red this year. The eye-catching shade has already been big in recent months and it's only set to get hotter as we head into summer 2024, with everything from red dresses to red bikinis being super on-trend for the sunny season.
One of her most notable red ensemble moments happened when she attended a Chiefs AFC Championship game in January while wearing a Guest In Residence (that's her pal Gigi Hadid's luxury brand!) Cozy Crew sweater in a shade described its website as 'cherry red.' She completed the casual look with gold accessories and her signature red lip, making the color pop.
Sporty Spice style called her name while supporting Travis Kelce
Athletic fashion is a huge trend in 2024, and Swift has already provided us with multiple looks for inspiration. But by far, one of her best happened during a January football game, where she and fellow bestie Brittany Mahomes stepped into the VIP box wearing Kristin Juszczyk-designed bright red puffer jackets emblazoned with their partners' numbers and names. Swift layered hers over a super chic black turtleneck and straight-leg pants, giving off a totally modern Sporty Spice vibe.
Following the game, fans were clamoring to get their hands on their own custom jacket.
Taylor Swift's printed bikini proved even her swimwear is on-trend
When Taylor Swift gave fans a peek at a fortnight in her life for a short video posted to YouTube in April, she proved to us that even her swimwear is bang on-trend. In the video, made up of a number of quick personal clips, the star can be seen wearing a super cute Devi Plunge V Wire Bra Bikini Top from Australian brand Zimmermann, which blends together a mix of different prints. In case you didn't get the memo, patterned swimwear is seriously on-trend for summer 2024. Swift's stunning swim top featured a mix of green and pink paisley and floral designs that exude spring break.
The singer paired the fashionable top with striped high-waisted shorts and angled, dark sunglasses, adding an effortless cool-girl edge to the look. Still present as she soaked up the sun? Her iconic red lip. Of course.
Dark embellished jeans showed Taylor Swift hasn't forgotten her country roots entirely
You've probably noticed that western-inspired fashion has been hot in 2024, and the Coquette Cowgirl aesthetic is an off-shoot of that.
