Get ready for your hands to be the center of attention, as well as this summer's perfect accessory.

Natural with a twist

This summer is sure to be chockfull of nails that are vibrant and bold if that fits your manicure mood. Yet, if you're looking for something understated and perfectly befitting of the ever-popular clean girl aesthetic, nearly naked nails are the trend for you. With this style of manicure, you get the clean, effortless look of naked nails without messiness or an undone appearance. Basically, you get the best of both worlds. Opt for a translucent pale pink or shiny, clear polish, and make sure that your nails and cuticles are perfectly manicured and moisturized.

Bold and bright

If you can't make a bright, bold statement with your manicure during the dog days of summer, then when can you? This year, some fashion-forward color lovers will be sporting fun, bold hue combinations, and bright neon shades. A great way to make your vibrant mani look extra updated is to incorporate the glazed nail trend a la Hailey Beiber's Met Gala nails. To get that metallic, shiny finish, start with your bold polish and layer OPI Stay Shiny top coat and a chrome powder, like this one on top.

Milk nails

We know what you're thinking: what are milk nails? These are kind of like the more opaque sister of the nearly natural nail style, and celebs from Lizzo to Selena Gomez have been rocking this look in different lengths and shapes. All you need is an opaque baby pink polish of your choice and a shiny top coat. Everything else is up to you. We happen to love the addition of these delicate white floral designs for a little more interest.

Pastels

We're pretty sure that pastel nails for warm weather have been on-trend since the first manicure in history, so of course, this year is no exception. And, when it comes to how you make can it your own, the world is your oyster. One popular way is pastel French tips.  Nail artist, Jin Soon Choi, explained to Cosmopolitan, "Instead of having pastel colors on your full nail bed, which can look a bit spring-y, simply paint a dainty French line over a sheer, neutral nail polish."

Iridescent

From lipstick to eye makeup, the "chrome" look has been a trend in all things beauty lately, and this summer, our nails will be no exception. One of the things we love most about this super shiny look is that it can be paired with many different kinds of manicures to make any nail look have a fresh, updated twist. This pink iridescent, almond-shaped manicure is cool and unique, but you can just as easily pair this finish with a neon color with a rounded nail shape or even a neutral pale pink with a super short nail.

3D

3D nail art is one of our favorite nail trends for the summer because there are so many ways to do it. CEO of Nailing Hollywood, Mazz Hanna, told Byrdie, "3D nails will continue to be popular throughout the summer, especially with all the innovation in the builder gel space." You may need a professional to create amazing nail art with builder gel, but that doesn't mean that you can't DIY a 3D mani. We can't get over how cool some of the 3D nail sticker options are that you can snag online like this set on Amazon
