This Ole Miss Dorm Room Will Make You Want To Go Back To College ASAP
Back in my day, dorms sure didn't look like this!
When I went to college I'm pretty certain I brought my childhood sheets from home, lofted my bed to have extra space, and threw a futon on the floor to complete the look. Well, needless to say, I have been shown up to the millionth degree.
Lindy Goodson and Abby Bozeman are freshmen at Ole Miss this year, and they figured that if they were going to be sharing a cramped dorm room, they may as well make it look as extravagant as possible.
Well, they succeeded.
The two girls connected via social media and began discussing their dormitory plans back in December. “She lives in Illinois and I live in Mississippi, so it was like a long distance thing,” Bozeman told BuzzFeed News. The girls said that they weren't sure if everything would work together once they actually arrived. Well, we think it's safe to say that their pieces match just fine.
“In this hall especially at Ole Miss, everybody decorates their dorm,” Goodson said. “It’s really competitive. So I was like, we definitely have to make ours look good. A lot of them here are done up.”
The two girls bought their items from a variety of stores, including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, Pottery Barn, and local furniture and antique stores. They had their bedskirts, pillow cases, and their envy-inducing headboards custom made.
After completing their setup, Goodson posted a picture to Twitter to show off their new digs. Naturally, the whole world's mind was blown. Over 3,000 people retweeted Goodson's original tweet, so much that she eventually ended up making her account private due to all of the attention. Some of the feedback the girls received was negative, but Goodson insisted that they don't mind. They are happy with their decorations and proud of the hard work that they put into it.
