Grieving Dog Finds Happiness Again Through An Adorable Little Duck
Sometimes a furry friend just needs a feathered friend.
Grieving the loss of a loved one is never an easy process. No matter your relation to the person, an absence from your life can truly feel like a hole in your heart. Humans, however, are not the only species to feel the loss of a loved one.
George, a dog from Tennessee, was battling depression after his doggy companion of twelve years passed away. One day, however, a ray of sunshine in the form of a duck waddled into his life.
The duck, named Donald, has brought George happiness in a way that his owners never imagined possible.
"We have no idea where this duck came from but he sure does love George and since the duck has arrived George has not cried one time," Litton wrote on Facebook.
The photos below have been going absolutely viral, which is a testimony to just how important friendship and compassion truly is in this world.
George was so heartbroken after his companion, Blackie, passed away, his owners feared that he might not survive. Donald's friendship, however, has helped make George happy again.
"It is strange for a duck to just appear at our house and be attached to your dog and even more strangely the anniversary week of Blackie's passing," Litton wrote on Facebook, expressing how lucky the dog and the duck really are to have each other.
Litton even invited Donald into their home to keep him safe, and George selflessly gave Donald his bed to sleep in. True animal love right here.
Donald has helped fill the void in George's heart that Blackie left, and everyone is so happy that these two adorable little friends found each other.
