Makeup artist Kasey Spickard told Bustle, "Red blush is the easiest way to create a perfect natural flush on the skin. It mimics the body's natural response to sun or heat."
However, choosing the wrong shade for your complexion can easily give you a clown makeup look if you don't consider your natural skin tone.
Those with warmer skin undertones should opt for a red blush that contains notes of coral and even orange. Those with cooler complexions should look for classic, ruby reds.
Makeup director Sara Wren says tapping the product rather than rubbing can help you achieve better results. Start with a little bit before building the color to your liking.
