Being a Catholic is such a wonderfully amazing thing! Catholics have such strong and beautiful beliefs that help maintain such a strong and sturdy foundation for the church, even when the church is going through trials and tribulations. The Catholic church may go through its ups and downs but each individual person who carries the faith knows that the religion cannot be shaken or broken! Stephen J. Dubner, a Catholic American journalist, spoke out positively about the religion by saying, "We took our Catholicism very seriously. We never missed Mass; our father was a lector, and both our parents taught catechism. At 3 in the afternoon on Good Friday, we gathered in the living room for 10 minutes of silence in front of a painting of the Crucifixion." Katie Ledecky, an American author and athlete, once said, "I think the beauty of Catholicism is its consistency through both successes and difficulties. I've counted on my faith to give me strength through both training and competition - but also in school, with my family and everyday life." So sure, the Catholic church deals with its fair share of ups and downs, being in the public eye for all the world to see… but that does not take away from the individual faiths that each member of the church might have. A Catholic British musician by the name of Brian Eno once said, "If you grow up in a very strong religion like Catholicism you certainly cultivate in yourself a certain taste for the intensity of ideas." That means it helped cultivate his artistic expressionism!
