History is a wonderful subject to focus on and learn about! It is important to spend time focusing on history because if we don't, history might start repeating itself! We must learn from past mistakes and build upon past successes! Michelle Obama, the wife of former president Barack Obama, spoke about history by saying, "You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world's problems at once but don't ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own." John Henrik Clarke, a historical enthusiast spoke about it by saying, "History is not everything, but it is a starting point. History is a clock that people use to tell their political and cultural time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them where they are but, more importantly, what they must be." Lastly, Haile Selassie, a religious scholar, spoke about history by saying, "History teaches us that unity is the strength and cautions us to submerge and overcome our differences in the quest for common goals, to strive, with all our combined strength, for the path to true African brotherhood and unity." These important figures knew the importance of history and the effect it has on future generations! Placing a high level of importance on a subject like History will only positively benefit us!
