The book of Matthew in the Bible tells a very important story-- it is about the life and death of Jesus Christ. The book is repeated in a way three other times through the stories of Mark, Luke, and John. Each of these books in the Bible share a new and fresh perspective on the holy story that we all know and love so deeply. The first time you read through the book of Matthew, it is hard to feel unloved by God. He truly sacrificed everything in order to forgive us for our sins. It is a very beautiful thing when you think about it. John Wesley, a religious scholar, once said, "I am a creature of a day. I am a spirit come from God, and returning to God. I want to know one thing: the way to heaven. God himself has condescended to teach me the way. He has written it down in a book. Oh, give me that book! At any price give me the book of God. Let me be a man of one book." Miles Coverdale, a professional Bible translator, once said, "It will greatly help you to understand scripture if you note – no only what is spoken and written, but of whom and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goes before and what follows."
