Fashion transcends age.

I Better Dress Like These 5 Women When I'm Over the Age of 50

Fashion is an incredibly personal experience.

You're in charge of dressing your body, which can come in many shapes and sizes. As we get older, fashion might feel less important. For me, I hope I blossom from a caterpillar into a butterfly. I can't wait for my style to change as I morph into a better version of myself.

Though stereotypes have made us believe otherwise, women over the age of 50 can still be fashionable. I revere the styles they've created, turning to these legendary fashion icons as a constant source of style inspiration.

Through their style, and the lives they've created for themselves, they prove that women are a force to be reckoned with.

1. Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton has had an incredible sense of style since she won us over in Annie Hall. She continues to wow on and off red carpets and it feels sincere when she dresses herself. She's cool and different and clearly isn't changing the way she expresses herself through clothing because of her age. And that is something I hope to emulate one day.

2. Goldie Hawn

Yes please, Goldie. She's spunky and unapologetically herself, regardless of age. I especially love that she flaunts her cleavage, because guess what, it's great. She's proud of her body and enjoys exercising, as evident by her Instagram. I want to be Goldie when I grow up.

3. Dame Judi Dench

Judi Dench is so fucking cool. She absolutely does not care about what people think and that makes her even more fashionable in my eyes. She's hip and modern yet clearly personalizes everything she wears. Another reason I love her? She's owned her gray hair for many years now and that's a true fashion icon.

4. Nancy Meyers

I idolize Nancy Meyers. She's one of the most successful female directors, ever. Her sense of style translates onto screen, her movies ooze elegance and class, and her characters dress immaculately. From kitchens to khakis, Nancy Meyers is as chic as it gets.

5. Oprah

Obviously, there are many reasons why many people, myself included, idolize Oprah. She's the ultimate humanitarian and she has changed the lives of many people around the world, all while looking stylish at all ages. She's been open about her body, something most women can relate to. While ruling the world, she still manages to look chic and comfortable at all times.
