Why Can’t I Share Some People’s Instagram Stories As A DM?
Instagram just released a new Story feature this week that allows users to share stories of the accounts they follow as a DM to other users. However, some users have noticed this isn't the case for ALL of the stories on the account they follow. So, a lot of Instagram users want to know: Why Can’t I Share Some People’s Instagram Stories As A DM?
If one of the accounts you follow has sharing enabled for Instagram story DMs, you will see a Direct icon that looks like a white arrow image in the bottom right corner of their Story. Otherwise, that user most likely has the story sharing featured turned off for their account.
If you want to disable the story sharing feature as well, here's how:
- Tap the settings icon in the upper left-hand corner of the camera screen
- Go to your Story settings to change up sharing permissions.
- Toggle "Story Sharing" off and you're all set!
Please Note: It is always good practice, however, to periodically checkback on Instagram's user privacy standards to make sure nothing has changed.
