Snapchat Update Issues Sending And Receiving Snaps | App Won't Log In 2018:

Thousands of Snapchat fans are facing misery tonight as the app is down and currently not working.

Things started to go wrong for the popular service at around 4pm with the company confirming that there are issues with its app.

In a tweet, Snapchat released a statement that said:

"Some Snapchatters are having trouble with Chats. We're looking into it."

Down Detector which monitors web outages, shows thousands of users have been hit by the issues with the UK and Europe all hit by the outage with one fan tweeting:

"Snapchat just went down. I can literally feel the panic of a thousand generations in my bones. #snapchat."

One of the main issues is when users attempt to instant message any of their friends and family.

However, there is a simple fix and if you want to send a notification you still can via a picture message.

These appear to be unaffected by the problems although it's worth noting that you can't currently reply to a message that's just been received. has tried this fix and has managed to send numerous Snaps to our contacts via pictures.

  1. Open Snapchat.

  2. Swipe right.

  3. Tap a contact's name.

  4. Tap the picture icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.

  5. Select a photo.

  6. Send your photo.

Or you can simply open the app take a picture, click send, then choose recipient and add your message.

This clearly isn't the fastest way to Snap your contacts but it does mean you can still get messages through to friends.

If you need further information, you can also try going directly to Snapchat or if you have another query, you can go to Are you excited about Snapchat's new update and redesign? And as always, be safe and Happy Snapping!
