Snapchat ART Reveals A New Kind of Canvas & Artists Can Now Explore Augmented Reality
How To Get Your Art Featured On Snapchat ART | Snapchat Update October 2017
Snapchat is launching a new update tomorrow and this one opens the augmented reality door for artists. The social media giant officially reveals the details of its newest Snapchat ART feature October 3rd, 3PM EST.
The Snapchat update October 2017 introduces Snapchat ART filters and thanks to some tech savvy Snapchat hackers, the details from the Snapchat ART launch site have been released already!
So What Is Snapchat Art?
Snapchat plans to launch a new augmented reality art platform featuring pop artist Jeff Koons and others. It will allow art to be pinned to specific locations in augmented reality so users can see it when they hold up their phones to the right spot, possibly to be used in conjunction with the SnapMap feature.
TechCrunc said, "Essentially, when users are nearby a piece of Snapchat ART, they’ll see a special Lens available. An indicator will direct them which direction to look until the location marker is in frame, at which point they’ll see the AR art on their phone. Perhaps users will be able to find Snapchat ART on the app’s SnapMap, though we can’t confirm that yet."
If you're an aspiring artist or know someone who is, good news is that Snapchat will be soliciting artists to sign up, so you could be featured on this new platform.
The sign-up will be available when Snapchat ART officially launches tomorrow, however below is what the form will look like. The new feature will allow artists to submit their art to be added to Snapchat ART, allowing others to experience their work in an augmented reality setting. Pretty cool.
